this is still one of my most favorite albums of all time
More than a decade later, this is still one of my most favorite albums of all time. No idea how this didn't achieve much more attention and fame than it did - this is a stellar record with some beautiful melodies.

Nuno Bettencourt in his best performance
Nuno Bettencount is not only an amazing guitar player but a great songwriter and singer. His sweet and soft voice definatelly kills and rocks in this album. Honestly better than the lead vocal of his other band, Extreme.100% recommended. Best Alternative - Pop rock that has not been spread by the media.

Another Hit For Nuno
This is just another in Nuno's string of bands and CD's that includes everything under the sun. It's got techno in "Sick Punk", funk in "Unhappy B-Day", a ballad in "Flow", Dylan-esque undertones in "Spaceman" and everything else in between. You can hear Nuno's vocals becoming so much stronger and calculated since "Schizophonic". Another solid effort and a "must have".

A really great album
This is an album which contains a tracklist of great variety; from Flow's slower beats to the funkier Unhappy Birthday to the more pop-tuned QPD to a rockier Rescue. The lyrics range from the deeper and more serious Stiff to the lighter QPD. All instruments on nearly every track were recorded by Nuno Bettencourt, which is quite impressive. It's a nice piece to add to your music collection, so give it a try!

Nuno blazes on
Nuno Bettencourt has yet to disappointment me. His guitar playing on this CD is first-rate, as always. The songs are crafted well, and I always thought that he was an underrated singer. He has a touching warmth to his voice that I find appealing. I always loved his funk side too. In his previous band Extreme, they played up the funky side quite often, and on this CD, songs like Sick Punk live up to that. I crank this disc.

An oldie, but a real goodie.
For those of you who have enjoyed Nuno Bettencourt's work while he was/is with Extreme, don't miss out on his incredible solo efforts. Point in case, this album is so good, it's downright scary! Based on the song content, it's apparent that Nuno was dealing with some heavy-duty things in his life when it was recorded (death of his mom, 9/11, etc). Using these, and other hard-hitting life experiences, Mr. Bettencourt delivers an outstanding album chock-full of differing musical syles, eclectic beats, and hard-driving melodies. Even though I drink deeply from the well of his work with Extreme, it's good to see that he isn't afraid to venture off the well-worn path of rock hero and make some danged fine music. I'll wear a pair of gloves just to give this album four thumbs up!

This is a great record...
but then again, Nuno hasn't failed us yet.His solo work is one of the most overlookedfor any artist in the last ten years. Stand-out tracks: Flow, Iron Jaw, If Only, Rescue.Fantastic combination of melodies, hooks andemotion. Love it...- cRAIG

like a hidden pearl
i don't know why nuno bettencourt didn't conquer the world til now. maybe it's because he's a shy guy. cos his music has feelings and power, and great chorus you would sing forever, and performatic amazing solos, and beautiful lyrics.this is actually those kind of album you would keep listening for a long long time, and everytime you do it you find something new. My favorite songs in this album are spaceman (beautiful riff, structure od lyrics remember like a rolling stone), ordinary day, stiff with his dense atmosphere, flow and its singalong chorus, and, man, you gotta listen the whole thing.and the ability to make you feel good while listen and sing his music is a gift from nuno, everything he does is great. mourning widows work is also this beautiful.
