This DAC punches way above its price in terms of performance and spec.Build quality is comparable to that from Japan,Sound is very detailed, super smooth and clean with no noise floor if used with a power bank.You would probably have to pay more than £700 to match its sound quality and spec.Bargain!!!

Easy to set up but usual faff in Foobar to get it playing all file types but that is not Toppings fault. Sound quality is very good, compatibility likewise very good and once setup is happily playing high def Flaks, DSDs and MQAs with no issues. lockups or dropouts.All in all very pleased and would give it 5 stars if it had a volume control on main unit rather than having to use the remote control. Its a desktop unit so its within arms reach thus having to use the remote is anoying. Also wish there was a way to get it to display currently playing quality rather than volume but thats a minor niggle.

The product was well packaged and presented with a clear instruction leaflet.Unfortunately the item sent to me had 2 defects. Firstly it had very short but frequent holes in the sound...only around 1/10th of a second but very noticeable...a bit like moth holes in a tapestry. secondly when the unit went into standby it generated a larege mains hum in my self powered speakers. The only way I could stop this was to run it of a USB Power block that you would use to recharge a phone. Clearly no QA check had been performed at the end of the production line.The unit was accepted as a return by Amazon with no dispute.I gave Topping a second chance and bought an E30 mk2 which arrived today. It worked fine out the box with neither of the above faults.

I feel it changed the sound but did not improve it, display needs to show bit rate. It only showed if it was high res or not.Connecting instruction were not good enough

I am disappointed with the purchase. It arrived on time by special delivery by Amazon. Unfortunately after installing it failed to work, not able to access the menu and kept displaying an error message. In addition it had a scratch mark on the top surface, I would have accepted this if the unit performed properly. I had a E30 sometime ago which worked until it developed a fault. Reporting to Amazon they put me in touch with the manufacture who suggested a couple of things to try, none of which worked. Amazon were very good and refunded the full cost to me.Bearing in mine that the E50 is over £100 more than the E30 I was hoping for something better.

The E50 is a good dac. I can confirm it is superior to the E30 mk1 and mk2 after owing both of those dacs. The E50 has much better instrument separation, better, stronger, more present vocals than both of the E30 models. You do get a fair bit more for the extra money and considering the next real upgrade in Toppings line up is the E70 at £399, the E50 is a bit of a bargain even if it might be still a fair lump to expend from your wallet. The dual output of the TRS AND RCA feature is a killer combo for setting up a hifi and studio monitors with the RCA going out to the amp of choice and the TRS to the studio monitors. This can be done simultaneously or individually so you could work with the studio monitors and relax with the HIFI all from one box, the E50. A very pleasing dac overall and anyone coming from the E30 will hear a significant difference especially in instrument separation which makes this a good choice for the bedroom producer putting a few tunes together on his/hers PC with a couple of studio monitor speakers. Recommended!

they really are amazing, it has a very neutral sound quality and stage, if you want something to sound as normal as possible with no interference, look no further. there's just no complaints here, it sounds true to the song, no over exaggerating etc. With some EQ on apple music - there's a lot of fun to be had!lost a star for the kinda loose volume control on these units, also my came a little banged up for some reason i had to return.all in all 10/10 realistically for price performance ratio. if you're looking for a dac amp combo, look no further and just go ahead and buy this one.

Eccellente prodotto.Possiedo un sistema Bose Style Life 48. Ho collegato una sorgente con file .flac, ma non ero soddisfatto del suono.Ho cercato le specifiche tecniche di Bose per quanto riguarda il bit di lettura, la velocità di campionamento e la velocità di trasferimento. I manuali non riportano nulla, su Internet non ho trovato informazioni e Bose mi ha risposto che non forniscono tali dati tecnici.Così ho deciso di acquistare questo DAC dopo una lunga ricerca, pensando che se non avesse migliorato la qualità del sistema Bose, l'avrei utilizzato nel PC del mio ufficio.Ma il DAC ha notevolmente migliorato il suono del Bose. L'ho collegato come preamplificatore.Sono molto soddisfatto del prodotto.L'unico inconveniente, che non è colpa del venditore né di Topping, è che il DAC è arrivato un giorno dopo quanto annunciato, ma non per colpa del venditore. Il corriere era la Posta Italiana e ha detto una bugia, sostenendo di essere stato a casa e di non aver trovato nessuno. Risulta che io fossi a casa tutto il giorno, ho dedicato l'intera domenica ad aspettare, e nessuno è venuto a consegnare il DAC. La Posta non ha lasciato l’avviso di giacenza che consegna quando non trova nessuno, in questo caso non lo hanno lasciato perché non sono venuti.

Mi equipo ha mejorado bastante, con un sonido más limpio y claro, con agudos brillantes y unos bajos bastante bien logrados, me encanta. Creo que este DAC transmite una señal de alta calidad. El sonido final depende del resto de componentes, pero el DAC le proporciona una señal limpia que hace que los altavoces suenen como tienen que sonar, ni más ni menos.

価格で言うとこれの6倍するDACより艶めかしい音がする。音の好みは価格ではないことを思い知った。。

Love this DAC and a worthy upgrade from the E30. Used the latter for several months before upgrading, and the 30 was relegated to my 2nd unit. Once I got the E50 it put that entry level Topping DAC to shame, and for this price it's pretty unbelievable. Compared to a Schiit Bifrost 2, this has a wider soundstage with smoother details. It comes across as really holographic w/ good separation, whereas the Bifrost is a bit more narrow & detailed. The E50 really punches above its weight for its price bracket and unless I find something that blows it out of the water, it's not going anywhere.The display looks great and much brighter than the E30, love the amber LEDs and the construction is very solid.
