Perfect if you are having problems with your hands
I recently tore two tendons in my hand; I am unable to grip anything tightly with my left hand. Unfortunately, the "hand" surgeon won't do anything until I do 8 weeks of physical therapy, per Medi-Care. While In PT we use these webs, they come in 4 colors which indicate the resistance each one has. I have 2 specific exercises that I have to do for my particular injury. On my first day I started with the softest web pressing my hand into the web causing my fingers to be pushed slightly backwards. This helps stretch the tendons that close the hand. Next, I place my fingers through the holes (they are spaced to fit different sized hands so anyone can use them) with the edge of the ring nestled where my thumb meets my palm and try to squeeze, this helps with your grip strength. Over the weeks, I have progressed to the stronger webs, still doing the same movements. I understand this is a bit long winded, but the reason is, they work really well, because I am now able to actually close my hand in a fist, still no good grip strength, but it is progress. In the packaging there are photos of the different exercises you can do with these webs. Make sure to place a lightweight towel over the webs to keep your fingers from going into the holes on the exercises that require a flat surface. As far as durability, if they didn't last, they would not be in our PT Dept. Just a tip, if you can use a heating pad for 10-15 minutes before you start, this will help relax your muscles and tendons. After your exercises, place a frozen bag of peas or a bag of ice on your hand for 5-10 minutes this will tighten everything back up. It never hurts to get some professional/medical advice before you start your own treatments.

Very stiff, well-constructed resistance tool for hand and wrist strengthening.
I bought this power web for rehab on my hand after undergoing a fairly complex operation on my wrist in which I was casted for 6 weeks. I had a lot of pain and weakness once the cast was removed. This tool came in great use once I started strengthening exercises. It has a great deal of resistance, so it is certainly not for use early in the recovery process of a complex hand or wrist surgery. Another very functional use that I found for it was in assisting me with the transition to bearing weight again through the hand. It allowed for a very gentle and comfortable weight transfer, well before I was able to comfortably get my hand flat on a hard surface. It would be ideal for a non-injured hand looking to increase strength and endurance. It is very well constructed and is extremely sturdy - more so than other products that I have seen from other suppliers. No hesitations in recommending this product, as long as the buyer knows that the green is very stiff and offers a great deal of resistance. Other colors may be more appropriate for certain persons.
