1-2-3 MicroGage

A MUST HAVE TOOL! I first saw this tool demonstrated on Stumpy Nubs cool tools demos.. (Cool tools #6). It’s a beautifully designed tool, with extremely accurate capabilities. I’ve set up and aligned my joiner, planer, drum sander, table and hand held routers to perfection. Once I started using the 1-2-3 MicroGage for my tool setup, its usefulness became readily apparent. I’m building new kitchen cabinets for my home and this tool makes each step easily repeatable ensuring dead-on accurate joints and consistent panels with a level of detail that I was unable to achieve using my eyeballs. Heck, I even aligned and set all my hand planes - blades projections are exact and parallel to the sole - no more guessing! Now I know everything is dead-on-accurate.Don’t know how I ever got along without this jewel! They also offer useful accessories.

The 1-2-3 MicroGage accuracy is OUTSTANDING ! I’ve been able to tune up of my woodworking machinery to the MAX. I now have confidence that my machinery is running in tip top shape. Great design and clear instructions. There are several optional accessories that make the 1-2-3 MicroGage even more versatile! Great value!

Indicator attaches to the sides of the 123 block very well, there's a knob to clamp it onto the block more or less in addition to the magnets. I can lift the block up just from the indicator mount and the block is solid and not light.Block and dial indicator are accurate when checked with calipers and on different 123 blocks. I'm very impressed and happy with the purchase, even if it is a bit pricey. It arrived in just a few days in a foam lined cardboard box despite the advertised 2 week lead time. Highly recommended.Update: been using it for a couple months and am still a big fan. I also saw that he offers a mini magnetic base and got that, but found that the dial indicator that comes with this 1-2-3 block product does not have the back plate to attach to the mini mag base.I contacted the vendor with that issue/question and he replied via email and then actually called me on a Saturday to explain and solve the issue. The 1-2-3 indicator can't use the back plate that attaches to the mini mag base because the mag base compatible indicator back would greatly reduce where and how the 1-2-3 block indicator mount could be used. Completely understandable and he is right.He offered to send a second backing for free that I could swap with the existing one depending on how I want to mount the indicator, but I'm such a fan of this product I decided to buy a separate dial indicator with the mag base back and be able to use both.Product is high quality and service is great. Just a single dude in the US with a good idea and good product, happy to support them and you won't be disappointed.

The product requires a $78 "Super Bar" for use in a miter slot. The magnets on the gauge only work in one direction, so if you did figure out how to attach it to a miter gauge bar, it would be pointed parallel with the fence. Also, I didn't think it through for my Kreg fence, it is aluminum, so the magnet is worthless.I did try it with an Inca fence. The magnets we not strong enough to hold it place on the Inca and the arm would need an extension.Finally, what did they mean by gage instead of Gauge? If it is a token or the pledge, then they failed.

This is a great woodworking tool for me. I use it to determine the difference in thickness between two boards so that I can plane them accurately. However, the best part is the customer support. If you call the number the guy who invented it answers. And he will very patiently answer your questions and take you through how to use it. Great product.

Outstanding quality. Accurate, versatile and easy to use. You’ll find uses for the gage that you hadn’t anticipated!The packaging is very nicely done and will be a great storage box to protect it in the shop which is important with any precision measuring device.
