Fantastic customer service
Unfortunately this unit did not work with the current PAL cable or broadcast signals in Germany. When I figured this out, I was past the Amazon 30-day return window. So I contacted OREI directly and they resolved the problem quickly - thank you OREI! Five stars for superior customer service.

Power plug type unexpected
I noticed some user's older reviews associated with this XD-1290 are actually people reviewing their XD-1090, which was not 4K compatible. The XD-1290 is 4K compatible. Also be aware the power adapter plug type might not be what you expect. The product description only says world voltage, which is true with 100-240V and 50/60Hz rating. But that adapter uses 2 round plugs for the wall outlet. I'm not sure which part of Europe uses that one, so you might also need a universal outlet changer to get to the plug type you need (no need for voltage change though).

No good for my TV problem
I bought a couple of TV’s from a alibaba seller and he delivered the wrong system. I ordered NTSC an received PAL. They could not help me and return was not possible. So I bought this but no good. Did not get any solution of the prompt helpdesk. So I decided to buy a cheap digital TV converter box ATSC TV Box with HDMI connection. (See picture of the box that works) Can watch all NTSC channels now on all PAL tv’s

No Audio
I could not get the audio to work with an HDMI cable. Tried reaching out to Orei, and the tech support was totally useless.
