Pretty and Functional
I purchased this and installed it on 03/18/2021. I will follow up on this on 09/18/2021 to let you know how the fit and finish hold up, especially the finish because these have a reputation for beginning to flake after a certain point. Picture from 3/18 included, will include a 9/18 pic when I re-review. Fit and finish are great, screws in and installs nicely, acceptably, but not perfectly, in spec, alignment is acceptable. I can confirm what everyone else says, there is a gap. Durability will be discussed in my 6 month follow up. If I follow up earlier than that it is because the paint job and texture failed faster than that. If this does fail, I will go into detail about approximately how many hours they were used, what type of game, the size of the hands using them, all that stuff. But hopefully that doesn't happen. About other comments.... SO, I decided I was going to completely take this sucker apart to CLEAN it because some of the buttons were sticking and I wanted to know why. So: 1) For the love of christ washing your hands before you play with a controller. the buttons stick because so much gunk from your hands and other environmental debris accumulates in the button area of the controller. I wiped the rubber gasket and the buttons down liberally with 90% isopropyl alcohol (INDIVIDUAL PIECES DO NOT POUR LIQUID ONTO YOUR CONTROLLER). I removed so much gunk it nearly grossed me out. 2)SO, that being said, as far as buttons being recessed, the fit not being functional, etc etc etc. That might be the case. I've only installed one of these. But on mine, I deep cleaned every button as well as the rubber gasket cradle the buttons sit in, and cleaned all the contact points between this new shell, the screws, and the controller, and yes, there is a gap, but the buttons were elevated just fine, the bumpers and triggers work fine, the profile button works same as before, and it's very pretty. 3) Will follow up with a pic in 6 months to let you know if the finish held up.

Brought New Life to My Elite Controller
I’ve been using the same original Elite controller since 2017. I really like it, mostly due to the removable battery pack and ability to use Scuf paddles that fit where the battery door is that isn’t compatible with the new Elite controllers. Unfortunately, the soft touch material on the faceplate is becoming sticky and holds lint and dust that won’t easily wipe off. I was looking for a replacement faceplate and this one stood out by far. I was hesitant about going with a new color scheme over black but it looks incredibly good. The texture feels great too, it isn’t soft touch but it has just enough texture to it to not feel like a cheap, glossy plastic. I watched a few teardowns on YouTube and decided to slightly file down the standoffs on the new faceplate to hopefully help the faceplate sit slightly lower so the buttons still stick out as much as they did with the factory faceplate. So far it feels about the same as the original but I have noticed a few areas where the dimensions aren’t perfect and it sticks out a bit at the bottom, but I will take that over the sticky and worn old faceplate. I also added a little foam bumper underneath the faceplate by the profile slider as it was slightly loose and rattled around and that fixed the issue. Great product for the money, and I hope to get as many years out of this faceplate as I did the original one. Highly recommended for anyone still using the original Elite controller.

Good stuff.
First off it looks fantastic and significantly nicer than the photo. It’s feels every bit as good as the original and as far as I can tell fits just as well. In the package you get the faceplate, a screwdriver for the special screws, and a new set of black screws. I did find the screwdriver handle small and not terribly comfortable so I used my own set but it will do if you don’t have your own. I’m also not really sure why there’s an extra set of screws. They’re not visible to begin with so having them in black doesn’t really serve a purpose imo. Nice to have if you lost one of yours I guess. Also to anyone complaining about they’re being no prying tool like in the video you need to stop. You can easily pry the grips off with your fingers.

Color is awesome fit is not quite perfect
This looks so good. The picture doesn't do it justice. It comes with everything you need to install it, including replacement screws (with a couple extra) and a screw driver. Unfortunately the fit is not perfect. The front edge gaps about a mm, just enough to look bad under any kind of inspection but looks great in my hands or just a few feet away. Also the left analog stick just barely contact it making a rubbing sound. Over all a good first impression and I will probably update this after I have had a chance to put some hours of game play on it.

No disappointments, just like in the picture!
Easy install, came with extra screws and the required screwdriver even though I didn't need either. The hardest part was getting the side grips off. I know better, but for those of you that don't, do NOT use a metal tool to get them off. Use something plastic that won't scrape up or bend them out of shape. The reason they are so hard to get off is because there is double sided tape in a couple spots, the clips aren't what's giving you so much trouble and you aren't about to snap one as you pull the tape up! The faceplate has a slightly different feeling to the old black one but it's still very luxurious and soft as far as plastics go and it's not a downgrade by any means in terms of tactile feel. The color is beautiful and the softness of the plastic gives it an ethereal glow just like in the pictures online. It looks just like it does on the amazon page. I saw that at least one reviewer mentioned there was some kind of "gap" between the bumpers and the faceplate so I made sure to carefully examine what that looked like before and after the switch. I can say for sure it's not any bigger than with the OEM faceplate. Maybe that guy just got unlucky, maybe he got it from a different seller, or maybe he didn't put the screws back in tight enough (careful on the tightness, though, I've broken enough controller screw holes and you don't want that to happen) EDIT: I clean my controllers with rubbing alcohol pretty regularly just to keep them feeling brand new in my hands and when doing this routine maintenance on this faceplate, the clear coat began to peel up. Now, I'm not going to deduct stars from this because it's not really that reasonable for me to expect that a nice paint job like this is going to stand up to my scrubbing it with 90% rubbing alcohol, but it's something you should keep in mind if you clean your controllers like I do. I ordered another one and I will be using 70% much more gently on the replacement.

No Regrets
I still bought this after seeing all the bad reviews regarding the gap once this front shell is screwed into the back shell. This fade is just undeniably catchy to the eye, and it actually looked better than I expected once I received it. The red on each side has a sheen which almost makes it seem metallic. Great feel, great look, I can get over the rest, but let's discuss that as well. This side-gap between the front and back shells is completely obvious when there's light shining at it. The plastic which should be behind the scenes is bright red where one expects to see either a flush finish, or be blacked out at the very least. Check the pictures for this shell versus an unmodified XBox One controller. I may dremel the standoff on the top-left of the back of the shell to bring it down to flush, also I may just toss some electrical tape down the gap before clicking in the back pads on each side.

Great faceplate if you want your Elite Controller to feel like a Standard Xbox One Controller
I have modded standard Xbox One controllers so I thought maybe putting this faceplate on my elite would give my Xbox One Elite controller a little character. The installation is a breeze, just like with a standard controller ... though I use my own tools the tool provided will work for most people, I have just found those freebies tools hurt my fingers after modding a few times. The comfort is exactly what I expect from a soft touch shell. It feels and looks great. Quality of Use is extremely poor, unfortunately. The XY AB buttons felt as if they were now almost inset buttons, this would interfere with game play. Then there was the profile switch, with this faceplate the profile switch is looser than some teeth I lost when I was a kid. The profile switch wiggled north and south, east and west in its slot. I checked both faceplates the official and this replacement and didn't see anything glaringly obvious. Ultimately, I made this purchase to dress up my elite, but the quality made it feel like a standard Xbox One controller with a pretty face, loose buttons and poor build quality. I switched back to the stock face and everything is nice and tight. Right now I can't recommend this product. Maybe I got a bad fit, but attempting a trial and error pursuit through a virtual store front isn't ideal for modding. To the Vendor: Get these features looked into ... and get these face plates closer in spec to the stock faceplate and I will definitely purchase again.

Easy to put on and gorgeous color
My new puppy decided to make a meal of my elite controller when I stupidly left it on my bed one day. Thankfully, he only ruined the shell and I decided to go fancy with a red one. It has a satin feel to it and it's really pretty. I don't mean pretty froo froo, it's just a really attractive deep ruby red. The paint is perfectly uniform. Guess what? I forgot it on the bed a second time and the puppy got to it again. I immediately bought another of these. Glad it's cheap enough to keep replacing and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying another controller. It was extremely easy to replace, too. Youtube is your friend. One word of advice - Don't forget to remove that 5th pesky screw under the sticker in the battery compartment.
