Great time saver...but it doesn’t work!!
Product performed as expected and works great!I have got to change this review, this foot has quit working the part that pushes the fabric for will not move at all no matter what I do it will not move. So the trial run it worked but when I sat down to actually make a full ruffle it was not working!

Horrible quality
My husband just bought this for me and I’ve been very excited to get it. I sew a lot of children’s clothing with ruffles so this would have been very useful. I read through the instructions and watched a few YouTube videos on it and was ready to give it a try. First thing, it’s difficult to get on. Okay, fine, I’d read other reviews that said the same. Worked through that. Tried ruffling on a scrap piece of cotton, that’s the first picture you see. Worked okay. Inconsistent stitches but created decent ruffles. It’s very loud when it’s making them. Then it stopped feeding material forward to gather so I checked it and one of the little feed feet had bent completely under. The second and third picture is after I was able to somewhat straighten it out using needle nose pliers. It just kept going downhill from there. It would not feed properly, kept jamming the machine and the top hoop part bent after a stitch. I bent one needle (that was my fault, I didn’t check alignment before starting) and broke another one in two places, last picture. That happened because on one stitch the foot did not feed properly, bent the top hoop and the needle hit that. This is a horrible quality product and I’ll be returning it first thing in the morning.

Works great with my Brother SQ-9000
The media could not be loaded. I finally got to test out the ruffler. It was very tricky to attach and use but I found a video online by a blogger who walked me through it. Once I got it going, it was fantastic. The directions were not adequate to set up and get going, however, it works as well as I would hope and it wasn't hard to find info online. The price was right and this really adds to the things I can make easily and saves time. With a little practice, I think this is going to be a lot of fun. I had sewing machine oil on hand to oil the points that need it. Just a heads up that is not included. I would highly recommend this ruffler. My sewing machine is a Brother SQ-9000.

Works on medium weight fabrics not good on mesh type.
It takes a little trial and error on the setting of your sewing machine but it does work. The depth of the ruffle doesn’t seem like it’s enough even though it’s adjustable. I was only able to to go from two needle to one needle stitch length of a folded pleat.(stitch length set at middle) I don’t think that’s really enough of a difference. Works on medium fabric but not on thin fabrics like mesh type. No matter what I tried the mesh has enough flex that it just tears when the feeding part of the tool moves back to get more fabric. And if it doesn’t tear it jams up. I adjusted the foot tension all the way up and all the way down and it still jams up and tears. By jamming I mean the material was not able to move so it got forced down into the hole where the needle goes into. It was extremely difficult to get out because the ruffler foot needs to be moved completely out of the way In order to do it. I put this on my heavy duty singer I got from Walmart. This machine has more power and runs smoother than my brother runway project sewing machine so I thought it would be able to do a better job. But on both machines it does ruffle and on both machines it jammed on the mesh fabric. The brother just works harder.

A real time saver!
The media could not be loaded. Time saver! I love this thing! It saved me so much time on my project! It does look a bit intimidating at first but once you practice a couple times it's very easy. In the video I posted I'm using only 1 hand because I was filming with the other and I still got perfect results. I was able to make alot of long ruffles for a crib skirt in a fraction of the time it would have taken me using the traditional method of gathering, and no frustration of breaking the thread half way though the process. It fit and worked perfectly on my Brother sewing machine. There are some excellent videos online showing exactly how to install and use. If you have a project that requires alot of ruffles I highly recommend this and with how inexpensive it is you can't go wrong.

I watched some installation tutorials on you tube and I KEPT IT CAUSE I LOVE IT. For those whom say it does not ...
PLEASE READ I have a Brother SE425 I read all the reviews below. I took a risk and ordered this anyway, after emailing brother asking if they had a ruffler compatible with my machine. Well, they said no they do not. I researched other online pages that say theirs is guaranteed to fit my machine but for $10 more. So I decided to order it with my prime thinking if it didn’t work I could return it. I watched some installation tutorials on you tube and I KEPT IT CAUSE I LOVE IT. For those whom say it does not work I have a suggestion for you…first install the ruffler, then insert the needle and after that MOVE YOUR NEEDLE TO THE CENTER FIRST, BEFORE SEWING. The foot is a bit tricky to install but I imagine it would be the same with all machines and NAME brand presser foot. I tried it and it works great. I am a beginner at this and this little thingy made me look like a pro.
