We keep coming back to this same solar cover every time we need a new one. It lasts about 3 seasons before starting to break down and become brittle, and we use it for one more season past that. It seems such a waste to keep throwing away this much plastic, but it makes such a difference. Not so much in warming up the water, but it really helps to prevent heat loss overnight and also saves water by preventing evaporation. It is easy to cut to fit our free form 18x36 pool and works well with a solar reel. We have tried other solar blankets that claim to last longer, but they aren't worth the extra money. Additionally, the extra weight of thicker mil plastic makes the blanket heavy to roll up and makes the reel bend down. This one seems to be the happy medium of longevity and ease of use.

I saw some reviews of rips and tears that worried me. The package was wrapped nice and neat. No bubbles were broken and no tears in the seams. The product was a little bit bigger than advertised. I ordered the 32x16, this one was probably 34x18, which is fine, I needed to trim it down slightly either way. Product has kept my pool temps from going down overnight and no need to use my heater with the heat from the sun heating up the pool. It also helps keep debris out of the pool. This item does get heavy and is a little bit of a pain to roll up. I may invest in one of those rollers with a crank on it.

When the cover arrived (January 2024) it looked OK. Perhaps a little thin, but I knowingly bought a 12-mil thickness (I'd had 12-mil before, and they lasted 3+ years). First year, all OK. It was only on the pool for 6 months (FL winter months), then stored indoors. The next year, it was still OK when I installed it in November 2024. By April 2025, there was some deterioration, but still usable. I kept the cover on the pool in April 2025 (for the summer, and did not remove it ever) to prevent evaporation loss. But by late June, it was in tatters. About half of the bubbles had separated, leaving thousands of 1/2" blue discs in the water. The seams were separated, much of the blue color had bleached out, and the surface tore like toilet paper when I tried to move it.A pool solar cover should last more than 1.5 years (1 year of actual on-the-pool use). It's apparent that the material was low quality, and was not sun tolerant -- a real shortcoming in SOLAR pool cover. The manufacturer should have indicated that the expected life was only 1 year.Don't buy this cover due to its short life. And I'd be leery of anything from this brand.

Heats the pool only on top yet worked well enough for us to swim. I am reviewing this two years later, even with protecting it with a protective solar cover on the reel during the winter , this year it has holes and is tearing and flaking off into pool water.

It's a solid solar cover. Easy to cut to size for your pool. It seems to hold up pretty well as long as it receives proper care. Definitely great for taking advantage of the solar energy vs using your heater daily. This alone can keep my water at 85 degrees or more.

This is an excellent cover. It lasts 2-3 years even stored in hot Arizona summers and adds 8-9 degrees of heat in the off months extending the swim season here. It is easily folded and stored during the summer. The quality is excellent and it can be cut to fit any Freeform shape. I am on my second. I highly recommend it.

It worked great the first summer we had this for evaporation. We didn't really use it for heating, but in the summer the pool was actually warmer than we liked, so it seemed to do that job well. But we have not even had it a year and already the bubbles are breaking and leaving plastic blue discs all over the pool, the yard, and in the skimmers (and I'm sure in the filter, since some of them broke down smaller than the skimmer basket). It did blow around a lot in heavy winds, and we had to anchor it with concrete blocks on the corners. Debris can still get in as well from the edges, and as you roll it up, so it really doesn't help keep the pool cleaner. I know that isn't what it is advertised to do, but we were hoping it would help a little in that regard. There are several large rips in the seams where the jets push the water around when the pump is on. It is really hard to clean, because it rips so easily and is heavy and cumbersome. You'd think we could have had more than a year of use out of it. Not sure we would buy again.

This cover was very easy to cut and customize to our pool. Works great raising the temperature of the pool and retains the warmth.
