Solid Bite Valve, but not Hydrolink-able
Solid piece of gear from Source. I wanted a 90° bite valve. I was using a Camelbak Hydrolink with with thier big bite valve. Well this Source valve is NOT compatible with Camelbak's Hydrolink quick connect piece. The Helix, and I'm assuming their Storm valve too, do not have a long enough tube that goes into the Hydrolink connector. It will go in but WILL NOT lock in. Just a slight pull and it will come out. I removed the Hydrolink quick connect piece from the tubing and inserted the Helix into the tubing. Works great.

Valve sucks air when drinking (update!!!)
Update first. After sending Amazon an email about this sucking air, they (or the company) sent me a replacement with one day shipping. I used the new one on a 14 mile hike and it works like it should. It does not suck air. Must have just gotten a bad one. This is a good accessory for the bladder. Great customer service on replacing the defective item.Original review. This valve sucks air.... I got this after I bought the Source Outdoor Tactical Gear WXP Hydration System, 3-Liter. That bladder comes with the storm valve, and I wanted a bite valve, so I ordered this one. I used it twice so far since getting it, the last time was today on a 10 mile hike. The valve sucks air. Its not a steady stream of the liquid from the bladder. I would put the storm valve back on and it did not suck air. Then back to the Helix bite valve and it would suck air. Did I get a defective one? Or do they all do that? The cost is too high to just order another one to see.

Some cleaning tips
In order to 'fully' disassemble the unit, you have to remove the rubber cap at some point. But since the rubber is so strong, it'll be a giant pain to remove it. However, I found an easy way to remove it that has not damaged the unit.1) There is a main point where the unit disconnects. It has three lined notches on the plastic. Once you turn the notices so the "2nd" notch lines up with the piece that actually connects into the hose, you can disconnect this piece. Source has some instructions on their website, so follow those to pull the unit initially into two pieces.2) Once the rubber / spring assembly side is disconnected from part that connects directly into the hose, you want to push the tip of the rubber against something like your palm, and hold it slightly squished down. This will flood the chamber with air and cause the rubber to release a bit from the plastic groove it latches onto internally.3) Use a thin flat head screwdriver, with rounded edges preferably, to gently wedge between the rubber and the plastic at the base. Since the chamber is flooded with air, it's easier for the screwdriver to get under the rubber at first. It's FAR easier to do this then using your fingernails to pry up and possibly break the rubber. Just inch the screwdriver around the inside of the rubber cap to dislodge it carefully, and pull slightly as you go to release it. Rounded edges on the screwdriver sides will ensure it doesn't damage the rubber.4) Follow the rest of the source instructions for after the cap is removed.Even though it is not necessary to disassemble fully like this each time, it seems quite easy to just leave everything nice and opened and let it completely air out.Hope this helps save someone some grief in the cleaning process.

Works with Camelback M.U.L.E. Systems.
I bought this to use with my Camelback M.U.L.E. With the quick release bite valve. I searched through every one on Amazon but none said that they work with the MULE system. I’m here to say that is does work, sort of. It fits into the female fitting and seems to slightly clip in, but if you pull on it, it will come right out. However, if you put it in and push on the backside of the push to release button, the little slide part that locks the bite valve to the female part will slide into the (little bit too narrow) locking slot. Then the new bite valve will not slide out.

Good replacement for camelbak quicklink hydrolock bite valve
I needed a 90 degree bite valve but camelbak doesn't currently offer one so I found this. I was a bit hesitate buying this valve since some reviewers say it won't fit a camelbak quicklink some say it would. I have prime with free return so worst case I could still get my money back. When it arrived I tried to put in on my antidote tube and it actually fits, although not perfectly. I can see the release button didn't come all the way up when the valve is fulled inserted. I felt it was secure enough I just went ahead and ran with it. When comparing against the camelbak bite valve, the chock on the source helix, where the quicklink connector engages on the valve is a bit narrower than it was on the camelbak but like I have said, the connector was able to engage it nonetheless.Using this valve is nice, I like the fact that is is 90 degree so I don't have to pull a lot of tube in front of me in order to drink from it. The cap fits very tight in the beginning and it took me a while to learn how to take it off with one hand. This is also where I must point out the biggest shortcoming of the helix valve, it is very annoying that I can't easily close the cap with one hand. Coming from a camelbak bite valve that has a cap connected via a more rigid silicon band, it was easy to open or close the cap with just one hand, but the cap on this valve is attached via a string, so when I'm drinking while walking/running, the cap flies everywhere, I then have to catch it with my hand, try to get it back on the valve which is now also flying around since my other hand is holding my weapon/gear. You got the picture, I hope.Overall I would recommend you giving this valve a try especially if you want a 90 degree bite valve, If you are worried it may not fit your camelbak tube, try getting the tube with the valve together from source, as I understood the tube that connects to the bladder uses the same connector as the recent camelbak (quicklink)

A great replacement for the Storm Valve
When I saw the reviews for my Source Tactical 3L water bladder, I knew I would also want to purchase the Helix bite valve. After thoroughly cleaning my new bladder and Helix valve with One Step Cleaner I had to try the Helix bite valve right away, and it didn't let me down. No messy dribbles and has a very good water flow, and this was without blowing air into the bladder.I will probably store the Storm Valve in the accessory pouch in my Source Tactical 3L Hydration System for when filling other people's water bottles, probably with a replacement Source Helix Bite Valve for just in case.

Best Valve Ever!!!
Ottima variante; per me preferibile. La pulizia è anche semplice. Basta alloneare durante la rotazione la linea incisa sulla valvola a morso con quella dell'adattatore e si stacca con leggera trazione. Top!

Am now a big fan of the Source Tactical 'system'.
Easy to clip on and off, doesn't leak. As some people have commented it hard in the mouth unlike a soft bite valve. Requires a hand to pull out the valve. If you want to lock the valve closed, a 1/6th turn and therefore need to un'turn' to unlock before you pull it out. Personally, this works for me. And of course, the cap for dust/dirt and to avoid unintended opening. Once open, the water will pour out, so the 3 layers of protection is a good thing.Compatible with quick mate and UMT fittings. Can take the valve off, to thread hose through small openings, then put valve on. Source makes a filler you can use to fill the bladder in your pack/ molle setup and although it is a little tricky to use, I love it.
