ACDelco Professional Water Pump Kit,252-593

I needed to replace the water pump on a 1981 Chevrolet C10 with a 250, 4.1L, straight six engine. I decided to go with this ACDelco because it was new and not rebuilt/remanufactured like most other pumps. The pump fit exactly as it should and my truck is back in service. I don't know if the pump I replaced was original or not because I got the truck used. I bring this up because the only difference between this ACDelco and the pump it replaced is the design of the impeller. The old pump had a impeller made of cast iron while the ACDelco is stamped steel. Another difference is that the vanes on the ACDelco are about twice as wide as compared to the other pump. The diameter of the impeller is the same for both pumps. The real test, however, will be to see how long this pump lasts. Thanks for reading.
