I was under the impression the illustration would look like the front cover
I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this book. I give it a 4 star rating for a few reasons. The book is very thoughough for older kids who understand the meaning of liquid oxygen, hydrogen and liquid fuel engine. The images in the book consist of real rockets lifting off and flying into the atmosphere. I was under the impression the illustration would look like the front cover, it does not. A side note, some rockets are placed right in the crease of the book so you cannot see the rocket. There are no break down pictures of how the engines/ rocket works, which is what I was looking for and expecting. All in all this is a great book for the older kids who understand science better. I don’t think I could reccomend it to children under 6-7years old without them being bored or slightly confused of the process. Unless your child really likes looking at real rockets and you can explain to them what hydrogen and all that fun stuff is.

Not worth the purchase
This book reads like a high school essay and is laid out like a photo book put together on a website. While I appreciate the subject matter and target audience, there really isn’t much here in the way of making a meaningful attempt at teaching children about how rockets work. No basic schematics or historic references, just stock photos of rockets and somewhat repetitious facts about how they work. It doesn’t have an author, which should have been something I noticed before purchasing.

The pages of the book look likes they have been copied using a colour xerox machine and binded together. Not worth buying at all.
