I have always used acrylic paint but wanted to try something different for fun. What I didn't know about oil paint is ...
I recently purchased a small oil painting set. I have always used acrylic paint but wanted to try something different for fun. What I didn't know about oil paint is that you needed oil to Mia in with the paint. I did my research and came across this brand of walnut oil. I decided I wanted to paint a four piece painting. I started off by mixing this sign four different colors and painting the background on each canvas. I let it somewhat dry for a few days the mixed this oil with some white oil paint and painted a big white dot in the center of each canvas. I was unaware that my oils paint still had not dried but it worked out great because I was able to make the white personalized to each canvas. I would like to paint flour petals but I know it will take a while for the oil paints to dry. I am just glad I found this product because it saved me a lot of frustration from not knowing how to use oil paints. A little seems to go a long way so this will probably last longer than my oils paints.

Miracle for oil painting
I've been oil painting for a while, using harmful turpenoid and the Mona Lisa brand paint thinner - carcinogens. I've researched healthier alternatives, and looked into natural oils. Walnut oil looked like the best option - others were infamous for drying too quickly or changing the color of the painting upon drying. I like when my paint doesn't dry too quickly, so I can work with the same paint the next day, blend, and so on.This oil is PERFECT. It's natural, not harsh, doesn't hurt the environment, and it's a perfect solvent for oil paint. Absolutely lovely. I used to detest oil painting because of the harmful solvents, but this oil is so useful. It smells like walnuts, and it's a bit thicker than turpenoid.I keep my used oil in a container and let it separate, then a week later use a syringe to take out the clear oil. The mixed up paint at the bottom can be used as a base for future paintings.I'll definitely be coming back to this oil, I highly recommend it.

Loooove it
It came in timely. I tried it for the first time last night with my Winsor Newton oils on smoothly gessoed canvas (several layers and sanded so its like panting on panel). I have a mix of paint grades from student to professional and this livens everything beautifully. The flow is smooth and blending and brush marks are subtle and easy to blend. I often work with Liquin to he'll with both flow and expedited dry time, but this medium didn't dramatically extend dry time like I was afraid it would. I was still able to work safely tonight over the paint I put down last night without affecting the prior layers. The flow is outstanding. I can't wait to try glazing with it. From what I've seen so far it will be smooth as silk.

Good oil, leaky lid
I'm just a beginning painter, so all of what I can tell is: it works. It's a good amount of oil, and I've enjoyed using it so far. One thing I would not is that the lid leaks a bit, not a lot, just the outside got a little greasy during shipping.

Excellent medium for oil painting.
It is the only medium I use with my oil paints. It creates a smooth finish which I love.

Perfect non toxic multi use product for oil paints
M. Graham walnut oil is perfect for extending and cleaning your brushes. I learned how to paint with oils and after dealing with too many harsh solvents in the early years I moved to acrylics. I missed the creaminess and fluidity in oils so I went back to oils and with M. Graham because of the low toxicity. This is why I love using their walnut oil. It can has a pleasant scent and works wonderfully as both a thinning agent and a brush cleaner all in one. Bonus, it also helps to condition the bristles on natural hair brushes so that they stay soft and flexible.
