Excellent and proven
I bought this bed almost a year ago, after an accident that disabled a family member. It is much more expensive than other home-use electric beds I considered But it is worth it. We have used it every day and found it to be sturdy, stable and easy to adjust. Raising the entire bed, as well as the separate sections, is important. Caregivers must lift the person to move them out of the bed. It's very difficult to do this without straining your back. Raising the bed is critically important. The mattress is very comfortable, not hospitable to dust mites and durable. The motor has sufficient power, much more than we need for a small person. It is quiet. ALL the five-functions are important. We temporarily had another electric bed, provided by insurance, and it was clearly inadequate in many ways. And these inadequacies become very important when you are caring for (24/7 bedside assistance) a very fragile, weak family member. I write this review now, almost a year after the purchase, because yesterday I thought there was a problem with the Point A (PAM-5). It was moving very slowly and making a noise. To my great relief I discovered that due to a power outage the power for the bed had been turned off for more a day. The battery backup had saved us. I was ready to put the two-year warranty into play, but I merely had to reset the power outlet that was turned off and left off. Now, immediately, we are 100% functional and re-charging. Thank you Point A and Glory Medical.

Extremely Comfortable and Well Built
I have severe degenerative spine disease, and finding a comfortable place to sleep is very difficult. For several years, I slept in a zero-gravity chair. This became uncomfortable, and my arms kept falling off the chair arms. I put a two-inch memory foam topper on the mattress, but I am sure a normal person wouldn't need this. I live in a condominium, so getting it up the elevator and into my unit was a concern. With a bit of help, it was easy to get it on edge and into the elevator. The bed is 99% assembled, so there's nothing much to do except use it. The motors are so quiet that they are hard to hear, though I seldom change the position. It is the most comfortable bed I have had in many years. The main selling point for me was the way that the back and knees are segmented. This makes elevating the head and knees a smooth curve instead of abrupt changes, which the flat plate panels on most adjustable beds have. The flat panels cause a crease in the mattress that becomes uncomfortable. This bed cost me less than one of my zero-gravity chairs, making it a real bargain. The overall quality is fantastic and better than some hospital beds I have been in. In terms of comfort, I have never been in a hospital with beds this comfortable, even in the orthopedic wards. I highly recommend this bed to anyone, especially if they have back issues.

The bed is too high off the floor.
I shopped carefully for a new hospital bed for my husband since I intend to take care of him at home. I wanted all the features in terms of positions & split bedrails on each side. I am a retired RN & knew what features interested me most. I like many of the features, ease of positions being important. It came in a wooden crate & after having watched the videos associated with the product, it was easy to uncrate & start using it. The primary problem with the bed is its height off the floor to the top of the mattress. My husband is now 69 inches & has difficulty transferring onto the mattress from the wheelchair because of its height. Another issue comes when trying to transfer him with a hydraulic lift into the bed. I have to lower the side rails onto the base of the lift after putting it under the bed. The frame of the bed is a tight fit over the base of the lift also & adjustments have to be made as I'm trying to get my 220 lb husband safely into position. a third issue occurs when trying to attach a trapeze onto the headboard. I was able to do it but with difficulty. I already owned the trapeze & yes it is for primary use with a metal headboard. I could buy a base for the trapeze but then there would be issues under the bed when trying to use the lift. I waited a few weeks after receiving the bed before writing my review. The only place I could find the type of bed I wanted was on Amazon which seems amazing to me. It is also made in China. I wish I could have "shopped" for the item locally but could not find a location to do this. I'm still working on methods to make this bed work well for us since overall i'm pleased with the product. I'm considering smaller casters for the lift & an inch thick board for next to the bed to give my husband extra height. I'd appreciate any recommendations from other users of this product.

Better than the hospital bed
My husband says this is the most comfortable bed ever! He loves all the adjustments and it is very comfortable. We bought the trapeze bar also so he can adjust his position. Easily moved and locked into place once assembled. It took our two strong sons to move it into the house. They used furniture dollys with the bed on its side. It is extremely heavy.

Comes assembled, but have a few friends ready to bring it in.
This bed was amazing for the price, all real heavy duty steel and motors. It feels like it would stand the test of time. The controls can raise and lower the head and leg area, along with the ability to raise and lower the entire bed to being nearly on the floor to very high in the air. There are also rails along the side to keep the person in the bed secure, they lock up nice and tight. Set up is simple as you just plug it in and it works, you just have to lock together the head and foot board and put the mattress on, its that easy. It even comes with an impermeable cover for the mattress. The only thing you need to be prepared for is to receive the bed, when it got delivered to me it was the biggest thing I had ever ordered and it came via a freight company and they don't take it inside for you. But I was able to open it up and get a friend to tilt it on a few furniture movers and was able to get it into my house like that, as long as you have one or two able bodied men to help out there's not much to it, I'd be sure to at least get someone to help as moving this along could cause you harm. The customer service with this company was top notch. They were able to help me with questions I had, I would highly recommend this bed.

Excellent bed & excellent customer service
This hospital bed met all of our needs, it’s very versatile for adjusting. The most impressive was the excellent customer service. I was contacted shortly after the delivery to see if I had any questions. The 3 videos provided online were excellent describing how to get the bed thru a doorway, etc. A few weeks later I was contacted as a follow up to make sure I was satisfied with the bed and to answer any questions. I felt it was risky to make such an expensive purchase via a 3rd party seller but after reading excellent reviews I went ahead with the purchase. I am very happy I did.

Good Quality
Pretty good quality. It came basically in one piece. The headboard and footboard were not attached, but it takes about two seconds to attach them. I was expecting a little bit of assembly. So that’s a double edged sword. We had to put it sideways on some moving carts to get it through the doorway into the target room. That took three people. I really wish the low setting on this bed was about 2-3 inches lower. My dad has a hard time getting in and out of it. It’s too high. And I wish the top safety bars were about 6 inches short shorter. And the bottom safety bars were about 6 inches longer. There’s basically no combination where I can leave one up and one down and my dad can get into the bed. So I’m leaving both down on one side and I’m using an aftermarket handlebar system.

Absolute Lifesaver
We had been using the 'old style' hospital bed rented from the local DME company and it wasnt suiting our needs very well - our backs hurt so bad after caring for our family member. We have had this bed now for 9 months and it was worth every penny. I did have to spray some WD40 on the moving parts because they got a little bit noisy - but the ease of use of this thing is priceless. The mattress is super comfortable and easy to clean. I just appreciate everything that this bed has done for us. The assembly was quite easy - but if you have stairs you will need help - it is HEAVY.
