Would this work for cooking sticky rice in an instant pot?

...Yes ~ ((though, size matters)).....I'm assuming the "instant pot" is large enough to accommodate the 6" diam steamer basket, along with enough water to actually cook the necessary amount of rice for your recipe.....in terms of actual functionality, the steamer will do it's job nicely......one practical tip: prior to loading the rice, insert liners in both baskets of the steamer....they should allow space enough for the steam to circulate through both levels and will also help to keep the steamer clean...enjoy!....Z

How much depth is there for water?

....Lily, since this steamer is a scant 6" in diameter, the water level will be approx 1-1/2" or less, as it will also depend upon your personal preference ~ the deeper the water, the wetter the contents in the bottom basket....so, if you don't want wet food items, then simply add less water....OR, first place a small wire rack in your pan to elevate the steamer, prior to adding your desired amount of water....that method works well...happy steaming!......Z

How to use the Chinese steamer

I put it over a pot with water of the same diameter. Inside I put dumplings home made or any vegetables for steam them. Are very delicious!!! Is easy to clean too...
