Do theses stay on when the item thaws?

Yes, these do remain stuck as and after the item thaws. I've noticed that the ink runs just a little bit, but not so much that you can't read the tag. The biggest issue is that the pen you choose to date the tag may run and you will be unable to read what you've written.
