Very pleased
This is an awesome kit. Not sure about the others. But I got this one because it works with another kit, that has a hydraulic hand pump, to eliminate the need to use an impact. Tried it with the impact 1 time and did not like it, mostly since it's very loud and I work late at night but the hand pump is just easier and with no noise

More than enough for the hobbyist/enthusiast, probably good for occasional professional use
I had no problems using this to stretch the factory exhaust on a 2007 Toyota RAV4, as well as the ends of a section of 16 gauge 409S stainless steel tubing. In the latter case I was just holding an 8-inch section of the tubing with a leather glove in my weaker left hand, I didn't need any kind of strap wrench or anything. The piece turned a little bit in my hand but with the great mechanical advantage provided by the tool's taper, it all worked fine. And I was just using a relatively inexpensive Harbor Freight electric impact wrench -- I didn't have to bother taking out the big air gun and firing up the compressor. This thing is really well built and has power to take over where the cheapo expanders give up. You know the type, the ones that you can borrow from your local auto parts store for free. I would even go so far as to say this would suit a professional mechanic who needs to do some occasional exhaust fitting. For the hobbyist/enthusiast, I cannot see why you would ever need anything more than this. The people comparing this to hydraulic expanders, well they must be expanding pipe every day or week for a living. If you just had to fit up some pipe once or twice a month, this is all you need, and it would hold up pretty well. I didn't see the size of the drive nut listed anywhere in the kit, so I will mention that my 29mm impact socket fit perfectly. Which is a good thing because I don't have any SAE impact sockets that large.

Not as easy as falling off a log
It works, it does the job, but even with a heavy duty ingersoll rand 1/2" impact and a 150psi air compressor behind it, it was all the tool could do to expand the pipe. I had to let the compressor build up pressure several times to get the job done. If I was buying a pipe expander all over again, I'd seriously consider hydraulic. In fact, I'm checking into possibly converting this one to hydraulic. If you can afford it, get the tool you want the first time, and you won't have to buy it twice. For the money, if you can't afford hydraulic, I'd recommend this tool.

Works great if you know it works & how to use it and take your time!
This works great if you have a good air compressor & good impact gun & time. I used it to install a catalytic converter on my truck, I hat to stretch both ends to 3-1/8" ID. To do this you need to read the instructions and check out the adapters to see how it works. You need to lube the "bolt/nut" assembly threads with "anti-seize" and start with the largest adapter set up that will fit in the pipe and start stretching. You will need to stretch and the looses and twist the stretcher 45 degrees and stretch again to make the pipe round again. Keep doing this and upping adapters till you get to the size you need! Can't say how long it took to do my 2 stretches but it made the install so much cleaner/easy and allowed my to do it without needed adapters and more clamps!

Best Exhaust Expander Available
I rented two manual expanders from an auto parts store , both made in china. Both were used and both were broken in the box but looked new. It took me all day and cost me a lot of time and gas. I found the Lisle expander on Amazon and purchased the Kit. After the tool was delivered , i lubricated it per the instructions. The lubricant is included in thee storage case. In 10 minutes the expansion part of job was finished. I own and have used other expanders but this is the best yet.

Good Pipe Expander
I needed to attach several 2 inch exhaust pieces, used a 3/4 inch impact and it worked. However it was very noisy, there had to be another way, adapt Hydraulics. I realized the Lisle kit used the same threads as my Harbor freight 10 ton knockout set. I hooked up the pump and ram and inserted large adapter thread, short end into the ram, I also used the chrome spacer included in the HF kit onto the threaded shaft. I proceeded to put the smallest expander with the square locking nut from the Lisle kit, screwed it down by hand. The pipe must be lubed. Being in the kitchen due to the rain I used canola oil cooking spray on the pipe and threads, plus a dab of EP grease on the threads. Slid the 2 inch pipe on the expander and pumped until it became difficult. Released and turned about 6 to 8 times. You must turn the pipe otherwise a square pipe will result. Perfect results, 2 inch pipe fit into each other without adapters. No compressor or impact gun needed. Made 6 connections. This Lisle kit is heavy duty and would buy again if ever needed.

Works on 3" 304SS easily, use common sense....
I bought this kit despite some people saying it didn't work on stainless, or it broke because the adapters are aluminum etc etc etc. I used it on 304SS bought from ace race parts and it expanded a piece of 3" fairly easily. I lubricated pretty much all parts of the stretcher and I didn't have any issues. The kit comes with a small tube of lube that seems very similar to anti-seize, people are complaining about the small tube like they don't have any grease in their garage..... I didn't see any directions inside my stretcher kit, but the whole operation is pretty straight forward. Stretch the pipe some, back it off, turn the dyes 45 degrees and stretch again to make it round again. Easy peasy.

not as easy as it seems
This item will work if you drop a pipe and it gets out of round a little bit, but if you think you can stretch a 2" pipe to say 2 1/8" fit over another 2" pipe good luck it takes forever of impacting, turn, impoact, heat, repeat. We don't have a hydraulic pipe stretcher at our shop and bought this as a stop gap to make our own custom exhaust, but it is pretty much useless for that purpose. It is built strong so I'll give it that, we hammer on it with impact guns and it doesn't break. Compared to having nothing it is good, but compared to a real hydraulic pipe stretcher it isn't even close.

Used it to stretch 1 3/4" exhaust pipe.

I should have purchased this sooner as it just works. Years of dreading every minor exhaust job is behind me. Grease it real good and hit it with the impact, loosen and rotate it a bit to keep pipe smooth and even and in no time you have a perfect fit. I have only used in on steel exhaust pipes so far. It is not a replacement for a pneumatic/hydraulic unit but for occasional muffler and pipe swaps this one does the trick.

Works well so far. Haven't used it a lot but so far so good. seems to be of good quality. I've noticed you have to rotate the expander a few times to get a good round flare. Doesn't work well with the impact on older pipes still on the car as it vibrates too much causing other problems. But still able to do it, just have to do it manually with a long power bar(ratchet). Not easy but it can be done. Holding the pipe itself without crushing it seems to be the biggest challenge
