Purchased this to house my PiHole. The case and board are a perfect way to get IO without dongles

This is shockingly disappointing in its design. While power does get to the ethernet board and the usb hub over an ethernet cable, it does NOT power the raspberry pi. In order to power the raspberry pi you either have to solder wires from the bottom ethernet board to the PGIO pins of the raspberry pi or you have to run a usb cable from the usb hub to the power usb of the raspberry pi. The problem with the GPIO pin option is that you have to heavily modify the case in order to run the wires because the case is to tight for wires to go up and down in the case.For this price, this solution should power everything and not need addition soldering or usb cables.In the description of this item it should have a warning saying that it will not power the raspberry pi unless additional cables/wires are used.As of the writing of this review there are zero other options to power a raspberry pi zero w with POE because if there were I would buy that instead.

This is a defective product. With this USB hat installed, the Pi's CPU overheats and fails to boot even after removing the hat. The hat's pins are shorting the Pi somehow. It will destroy your Raspberry Pi Zeroes! And in this current Pi shortage, this is a very big deal as Pis are very expensive to replace nowadays. I lost two brand new Rapsberry Pi Zero Ws using this product. Save your Pis and do not buy this usb hat! Buy a micro USB dongle instead!
