Excellent, especially keeping the scraped surface flat, while removing the bits of the old gasket. Highly recommend.

Works great for hard gaskets, carbon, or just hard material on sealing surfaces, used it for cleaning up header surfaces with gasket material on them and it cleaned up great and it still had a perfect edge.

This wasn't the cheapest scraper, but it worked great. Made short work of a stuck cylinder head gasket and inlet/exhaust manifold gasket. Sits in the hand nicely and seems well made.

Once in a while you find a tool that changes how you do things for the better. Just like trying electric wrenches for the first time. This changes cleaning mating surfaces completely for me. Took it out and cleaned mating surfaces on a piston replacement job for the notorious cracking issues on the late jeep 4.0. Got it done even with the 4.0s uneven factory surface all it did was smooth out the high spots. And gotta say it made the job so much better than using razors like I’ve done for a long time. Far more ergonomic and aggressive than a razor.

Title says it. This thing is awesome at the job it's designed for and you better be careful or you'll be removing metal from mating surfaces, it's that sharp and good. A single stroke can remove quite a bit of leftover silicon gasket material, leaving clean metal in its wake. Use it correctly and it will quickly do the job, use it poorly and you can damage parts so be careful and practice on areas that can deal with a little damage. I ordered this because I saw Eric O on his South Main Auto YouTube channel using one, he recommended it. I'm currently doing an engine swap and needed to remove the intake manifold, valve cover and oil pan. The valve cover and intake manifold were very easy to clean up, as was the block in those areas. The oil pan would have been a pita before I got this tool, with this tool it was a breeze and only took a few minutes to remove all the old silicon gasket/sealant material. I cannot recommend it highly enough. This thing is one awesome tool.

I use this every day in the shop. It works so good. Cleans any metal. On aluminum you just don’t have to push hard. Cleans up all surface. I need to buy the narrower one.

Astor gasket scraper is a well made and sharp tool, easily remove burnt on gasket residual! Use caution when working with aluminum engine casing it can gouge the metal, using light pressure it will do a great job saving you time and frustration! I’d buy again no problem! Super fast shipping!

Works excellent, cleans of surfaces nicely

I like this one so far a bit more than my Lisle carbide scrapers that I've had for the past couple of years. This works very efficiently, and feels good to hold. Just needs to come as a smaller headed version too, and a long reach option wpuld be good.

Das Werkzeug liegt gut in der Hand, die Schneidekante ist tatsächlich sehr scharf. Ich habe das ohne Druck auszuüben sehr vorsichtig mit ganz flachen Winkel auf den Dichtungsstegen angewendet, um hartnäckige Dichtungsreste zu entfernen. Für mich ein nützliches Werkzeug, wenn man vorsichtig arbeitet frisst sich das nicht in die Alu-Stege ein, wie bei anderen Werkzeug oft passiert. Ich hätte zusätzlich gerne noch eins das nur halb so breit ist, für kleinere Teile und schmale Stege, und um die Bolzen herum.
