True blackout solution!
I got some “blackout curtains” for my baby’s nursery that I thought would be sufficient at the time. Now that my baby is older, we’ve transitioned him into the crib in his room, and I didn’t realize how much light was coming through his “blackout curtains” until then. It was too bright in there during the day for him to nap effectively - it was taking forever for him to fall asleep and he wasn’t staying asleep more than 30 minutes. We live in south Florida, so it is pretty bright here year round during the day time, and after daylight savings, it will stay bright until about 8:30pm, so I had to fix this light issue! I looked at everything blackout related on amazon, and felt another set of curtains wouldn’t do the trick, as light can still peek in through the top and sides. I also looked at those suction cup panels, but we have an odd sized window in his room, so this fabric seemed to be the best option. I mounted it to the outside of the window, directly onto the wall, to prevent light from spilling in on the sides. It is lightweight enough to be held up with Velcro or thumbtacks, but effective enough that I couldn’t even see my hand in front of my face with all the doors closed after I installed the panel. It is sold by the yard, so it’s easy to customize to the size you need and cut off whatever you don’t use. I also like that it came on a roll, so there were no wrinkles or creases to remove, and it made for an easier installation. I highly recommend this product if you are seeking to make a room as dark as possible, especially at such a low price!

100% light blocking, zero stretch, great product! Just don't poke any unnecessary holes.
Got this to wrap over a wooden frame to block light coming from part of an odd-shaped window. No problems stapling it down to wood; it's substantial fabric and did not rip or tear. It does one job (block light) and does it perfectly. Zero sun passes through this stuff. Just make sure your sewing machine is set properly because you only get one shot to work with it; once punctured you've got a very obvious hole where the inner black layer & light shows through. It also doesn't stretch at ALL. Not a good or bad thing, just something to be aware of. Also feel like it's great bang for the buck. I will probably purchase more soon.

Easy to work with, blocks light very well
Excellent at blocking sunlight. Easy to cut to size with ordinary scissors. Thanks to the metal corner beads around my frameless windows and several push-pin style rare earth magnets (much easier to work with than button magnets), I am able to suspend the fabric from the top of the window casing for easy adjustment and removal when needed. Not as attractive as custom blackout channel-style blinds, but far more affordable. I initially ordered enough fabric to cover two windows. When I saw how well it worked, I ordered more to cover a third. Shipping was very quick via USPS.

Blocks light very well
I purchased two yards of this light-blocking fabric to make a curtain for the 54" wide window of a night-shift worker who needs a dark room to sleep during the day. I sewed a simple rod pocket along the long edge and hung it on a medium-weight tension rod inside the window frame. I did have to adjust the rod to fit tightly, as the fabric is rather heavy, but the curtain came out great. A small bit of light comes in around the edges, not through the fabric itself, but the room is adequately dark. The fabric is white on both sides, feels soft, and drapes fairly well despite its weight. I would absolutely purchase more if I need another blackout curtain.

Effective blackout fabric
Shipped in a long box on a cardboard roll but both of my orders came with a lot of wrinkles/creasing on the fabric, probably from when it was shipped. Still, very effective for blocking the light in my bedroom windows and would choose this again. It's nice to have a light-colored blackout fabric. Looks much better for my purposes; many of the choices out there are black, gray, silver of some sort which wouldn't have worked for my application.

Great fabric at a great price
I made a pair of curtain panels out of simple cotton fabric, which let a lot of light into my collectibles room. I decided to line them and chose this fabric because the price was so good - less than $5 a yard (as of this writing) with free shipping. I expected to get the fabric tightly folded in a padded envelope; so, I was blown away when it arrived rolled on a tube within a box! I was able to unroll, cut and begin lining immediately - no ironing necessary! The lining works great. If not for the part where the two panels come together, no light at all would get into the room. I have uploaded pictures of the actual curtains before I lined them and after. The lined curtain pics were taken at midday! Overall, I highly recommend this blackout fabric. Works beautifully, and at a great price.

Works well
If you have the time, effort and a sewing machine, this is a great way to make black out curtains. If you were able to find black out curtains that actually black out that is the best way to go. But, we were not able to find black out curtains that we really liked. I cut to size this fabric and sewed it to the back of six panels for my teenager’s bedroom. It provides a great amount of black out. The material is easy to use and easy to sew. It’s also easy to cut and I recommend a nice pair of sharp fabric scissors. I wouldn’t worry too much about making it all perfect because the curtains themselves are not usually perfectly square. Just line it up, cut it and see. I sewed all three sides of the curtains- top and two sides leaving the bottom unstitched. I would have to say it all went very well.
