The old plungers were all-rubber, and the shaft swelled up and wasn't sliding in its bore, plus the seating surface was a bit worn. With the new nylon body/shaft and a separate rubber seal for the valve, I expect this to last longer. Also, when one rubber seal surface wears out, it should be possible to flip the rubber seal and get some more life out of it. Review: Works well - Exactly what I needed. Works well

It's a check plunger! It's nylon and rubber!
It gave the valves on my sink a much more solid feel, with positive shutoff. The old plungers were all-rubber, and the shaft swelled up and wasn't sliding in its bore, plus the seating surface was a bit worn. With the new nylon body/shaft and a separate rubber seal for the valve, I expect this to last longer. Also, when one rubber seal surface wears out, it should be possible to flip the rubber seal and get some more life out of it.

Quick Fix at Reasonable Price
Almost coughed-up the price for two cartridges then saw this item. Review by other suggested this plunger unit was only repair necessary. After looking at the seat part of the cartridge (where this seals against) and noticed it looked nearly new I decided to give this a chance. What could it hurt? It's almost a month later and the faucet works like a charm. Very happy I followed the review by a guy that works repairing faucets almost daily.... his recommendation save my veteran's organization some serious cash.
