Excellent Overview
This book is a must read for all that plan on vacationing or living in Ecuador. Also should be required reading for entrepreneurs going to Ecuador. The book is a great introduction to the colorful Ecuadorian society. Also included is a brief but informative history, including the harsh realities of the past.

Decent guide
I have lived in Ecuador for the past few years. This gave me a few new places to explore, and does a reasonable job of describing those I already knew.

This Is An Excellent Informative Book About Ecuador.
This is an excellent informative book about Ecuador. I liked this book because I learned some facts that I did not know before reading this book. I read this book for my personal pleasure. Some of the interesting information that is mentioned in this book include the following information: The variety of ways that Ecuadorians eat maize is astonishing. Quito's altitude is at 9,350 feet above sea level. The old town's narrow streets are a living museum. There are some supermarket chains in Ecuador including Aki Supermaxi, and Mi Comisariato. The currency in Ecuador is the U.S. dollar and electricity outlets are at 110 volts. Venezuelan independence fighter Simon Bolivar lived from 1783-1830. Ecuador's most important source of foreign earnings come from crude oil. In 2001, Texaco was merged with Chevron. Corpus Christi means Body Of Christ in Latin.
