Great Rod!
Absolutely love the St Croix panfish and trout lines of spinning rods! I now have a 54UL trout, 69UL panfish, and 70L panfish, all performed exceptionally well. They are light and sensitive. The tip provides the right amount of actions to the lures. Best of all, the unique guides design is very effective in reducing wind knots for low pound test (which equals to ultra thin) braided lines. I typically use 10lbs braided line with 6lbs fluorocarbon leader. The UL rods can cast a 1/32 oz lure a country mile. Definitely a dream rod to fish with.

Nice rod for crappies
I had one of these and it got in a fight with the ceiling fan in our summer cabin and lost. I fixed the tip but to much was broke off and it had lost a lot of the action that made it an ultralight. I went to town and bought a couple others in same action but I did not like them. They just weren’t the same and they were 2 peace rods. I like this rod because it’s one piece! They are hard to fine in this action at this length in an ultra light. As soon as we got back home after vacation I ordered this rod to replace the broken one as it is identical to it.I am happy again fishing for crappies with little tiny jigs.

Great rod!!!
I absolutely love this rod! Whoever I am not happy with the company that I got it from. They shipped it in a regular cardboard box with no protection (bubble wrap). It should have been in a heavy cardboard tube. The box was crushed. Luckily There was no damage that I could see. Great rod but very unprofessional company

Quality Rod
Really like the quality of this rod. I bought the 6'-4" Light action so it has plenty of backbone. Extremely light weight. Pairing with a Daiwa BG2000 spinning reel. Hard to find much selection for rods and reels right now so I was happy to find the rod I wanted on Amazon. Shipping was extremely fast. Ordered on Sat and arrived on Tues. Packaging was a square box so it was not in a tube which could be a concern about shipping damage. No damage to the rod.

Nice Rod!
I've bought two of these in 7 foot with light action for crappie fishing. I paired them with 1000 series Shimano Sedona and use them to throw small jigs from 1/32-1/8. I really like the real seat area. It's super comfortable in my hand all day. The sensitivity is good, not what I would call great I guess but very good and it's got a soft tip with good backbone from the middle down through the butt section. I've fought some pretty big crappie on them and they do quite well. I could stand for it to be just a tad stiffer but not by much. All in in I like the rod a lot and I'm real picky. If it was just a tiny bit more sensitive and a wee bit stiffer it would get five stars. St Croix makes nice stuff. I would buy again and just might have to have a third one.

Sensitive and Flexible
I love this rod! Compared to my previous rods, this one is the best that I have used. It is extremely sensitive, which is perfect for catching pans. The sensitivity was different to get used to at first, but after a while I can clearly tell the different between an actual bite or not. My brother even used it and almost caught a very large bass on it. If you're worried about it breaking because it bends too much, you don't need to worry at all! The rod was bent to almost a full circle with no signs of it breaking. It went back to it's straight self afterwards, too! I was very pleased. Definitely going to be buying more St. Croix rods from here on out.

Very disappointed with this rod
I have several St Croix rods but this one in pure crap. Used 4 times before the tip and about 3 inches of rod snapped off. Granted it s hit by a large 2lb + crappie but was well within its 6 lb capacity. Of course it broke 2 days past the Amazon return period. While St Croix warrants their rods (as long as they determine it was a defect and not a user issue) the rod has to be returned to the factory. They even give you a “FedEx deal” where “all” you have to do pay $20 to send it back. Plus packaging of course. If they decide it was not a warranty issue you get to pay at least an additional $20 fee to have it replaced or fixed. So is paying the $40 additional worth it? Well it is an $120 rod that is pretty much useless unless you modify it. You cannot just replace the tips on these one piece rods which is why it has to go back to the factory.
