Has anyone tried to use merckens candy coatings with these molds? i’m having a hard time tempering chocolate.

Merckens are full of oils and is just not good quality chocolate. Use Belgian chocolate like callebaut and a double boiler when tempering. Bring to 110-115, then cool to 95, then add a small amount of fresh chocolate and stir until melted. Perfect every time. Use a thermometer to be exact.

Does this make a solid egg or a hollow shaped egg?

both are ok but such a big size make hollow egg is better

How do do get chocolate out of mold in one piece? Wanting to make hallow chocolate eggs with this mold

The mold is one piece so you would have to make them in two halves and join them. I was able to make hollow eggs this year with this method, as long as the walls are thick it is not too difficult to join them.

Can it be used multiple times without breaking?

Yes, it's very sturdy, good quality. I used it multiple times. Rinse it with hot water and leave to dry, then clean with cotton wool and alcohol before use.
