Really great for the price
I was skeptical, and needed this the next day so I went with it. For the price I'm not sure it can be beat. This is a great tool, especially when you get a feel for how to use it properly, letting the tool do the work. It is very sharp and will slice right through thick brush/branches when you get the right angle and tension. There was some slight imperfections on the edge of my blade (that I can file down) which is why i give it 4 star. But again the price and quality is just unbeatable IMO.*Update* After using the blade a few times, the slight imperfection has worked itself out! 5 star tool, I've been very impressed. Just be sure to be very careful and wear some good gloves. I almost cut my hand when losing focus for just a second, luckily I had gloves on.

Solid and useful
It is nice and sturdy and feels well balance. The blade was dull when I got it but was easy enough to sharpen. It is great for cutting back ornamental grasses and for clearing small brush and foliage. Just be sure that you respect the fact that this thing could lop off a human limb or digit as easily as a tree limb or branch. When it is sharp, it is formidable and you want to be very careful.

- Short Curved Kukri! -
The other similar knife/machetes are effectively sickles and are only effective when making a pulling motion. If you are unfamiliar with the sore muscle that develops between your arm and your side when you scithe, you will find out soon enough when cutting anything as heavy as bamboo. (BTW, YOU CANT CUT TREES WITH A SICKLE)This is effectively a khukra, except that is has a smaller exposed sharp edge, which is less dangerous and better in tight spaces. Just swing it straight like a hatchet, and the shape of the blade will do all the work. It pretty easy to find the sweet spot. Also, this one is heavier than the other brands available on the market so once you get it moving, it carries on under its own weight. It has a strong, very durable handle with a full tang. being durable means it isnt soft, so wear a good pair of gloves to go with it - the same you would do with any other major tool used out-of-doors. (Duh)The shape of the back of the blade has a little more width. If the object you are attempting to cut wants to hold the blade, this slight thickness at the back will help break it into two pieces as it travels through. If you havent seen one at work, buy it for less than $30 and you will easily find it to be worth twice as much as long as you obey all safety precautions. This is the best buy I have made in a long time! I do not go into the woods without it!

Good size
I thought it was very sharp and sturdy. Makes a big difference when cutting brush.

Decent for the price, hurts the user's hand.
for the price they are charging the balde is decently made, the steel and temper held up to a couple hours of chopping saplings down and it still felt sharp. i do wish it was not sharpened only on one side like a chisel. it makes it not work as well on the back swing as the fore swing. You'll also need a curved sharpening stone though with that inward curving blade. that's relatively minor though. the main issue i have is with the cheap plastic handle. it absorbs no shock at all. every blow transfers all of its force right into my hand and arm. If i need to use it some other time, i may try doing a cord wrap.

Good stout blade!
Blade is good , full tang build but the handle is junk. Add a nice comfortable wood handle and we got a keeper!!!

Great tool! We'll made and pretty sharp out of the box.
With in the first week I already cut back everything I could in my backyard. Cuts great! I even chopped through a wrist sized branch and it way outperformed my new Harbour Freight axe.
