The Riches - Season 1

Great 2 season, fresh look at what it might be like to be RICH
I just stumbled across this looking for something to watch, now it is time for binge watching.SPOILER::The show is about a family of travelers (gypsy). The mother gets out of jail after 2 years on the inside. She wants to return to her family (extended family too) but her husband ruins that so he steals a large amount of money from "The Family".They run into some fellow travelers who quickly figure out the Malloys/Riches have a new scam or game they are running and have money. The friends want in but The Malloys/Riches want to get away from them before they find out where the money came from. When the friends cause a car accident they turn and run away, the Riches go and try to help only to find the people are dead /dying. Once they die the Wayne Malloy finds a letter with keys inside. Keys to their new RICH life. The show is about fitting in or trying toThe show is about how cliques in the upper crust work and do not workBeing Rich or being the Riches seems to not be all you think it might be..Very funny show and a new take on the whole sitcom approach nominated for Golden GlobeSad it was only 2 seasons, I think I would have liked to seen a lot more of this show

A surprising storyline.. not the usual plot. I love the characters! Well done... & well written!
This is a good storyline! I had never heard of the Tv. show prior to finding it on Amazon Prime... but I had never seen a show about the Gypsy Life... This would leave you to believe that as Gypsies & Thieves you may not like the characters... but somehow you end up loving them! You find yourself "rooting" for them to make their way in society... get their kids into school.....and live a "normal life" at one point the main character is talking too his suburban "neighbor" and admits that he is a "fraud". The neighbor admits that everyone in their rich lives are frauds... (that was meant to comfort.). I am 8 episodes in... Minnie Driver I have always loved as an actor.... and somehow she makes this believable...A great cast.... and a storyline probably long before it's time... I could see an audience now for it... probably not years ago when it was actually made. I am glad Amazon offers it! Great find!!!

Dark, funny, entertaining and addicting.
A dark comedy/drama about Irish gypsies/grifters who take on the identities and lavish lifestyle of a deceased family in Edenfalls, Louisiana. I'd never heard of Eddie Izzard and had no idea he was a Brit. Caught him on YouTube and can see why he's so fantastic. Not a hint of a British accent in his role as Wayne in this show. The story is engaging and entertaining, if a bit unbelievable and over-the-top. I'm hooked and plan to watch the whole series. Minnie Driver does a great job with her role. Convincing Southern drawl. Looking forward to more of The Riches.

The Riches - Very Entertaining
This show held my interest for the entire 2 seasons. The family dynamics alrhough dysfunctional was pretty entertaining as was the main character played by Eddie Izzard. Loved Minne Driver in her role as well. I am not surprised it got cancelled though because that's what networks do. They cancel the excellent shows and keep the garbage reality shows going and going. They never listen to the audiences. Not the first time I've been "into" a show only to have it abruptly cancelled in the middle of a storyline leaving everyone hanging. Smh.

Caution! You Will Become Addicted to The Riches!
If I could, I would give this series more than 5 stars. It's fantastic! I've watched all the episodes on Amazon and am hoping for more soon. A story that starts out introducing you to some pretty seed characters only takes a few minutes to pull you into their circle of friends and you find yourself rooting for them to succeed in their crimes. A very original, very fresh idea. This series has a beautiful cast, beautiful backgrounds, lovely costumes, and an incredible script. I'm hungry for more!

Funny in the beginning only to let you down in the cut short ending!
this would have been a great show if it would have had additional shows/seasons. the series started out awesome, but was cut short and ended badly. it gets you all hyped up to what happens next, but with only 7 episodes in the 2nd season, the excitement goes downhill as it is cut short. we will never go how The Riches would have truly ended up in the end. since the series was cut short, I cut the ratings short as well from 5 starts to 3 stars!!! hey, they should have finished out the season! booyah!

Sehr gelungen

DISTURBINGLY GOOD
Enjoy those who hustle and sting? Here they abound. The Malloys, cast from their travellers' community, take on the identities of posh people killed in a road accident. For how long can they now pass themselves off as the Riches on the prestigious Edenfalls Estate? So, from off the grid to mainstream! For thirteen inventive episodes the Molloys strive to keep ahead of discovery. The result is quirky, richly comic, occasionally most moving. Some may find it uncomfortable to watch, for travellers have usurped The American Dream - only to discover it based more on image than substance and is full of con-artists similarly on the make.In no time at all the three children are enrolled in the district's most exclusive school, dad the top lawyer at a property company. Far-fetched? Absolutely - but, as the commentaries point out, no more so than some of the stunts pulled in real life.Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver head a great cast - the children awesome. Inspired scripts defy the viewer to anticipate how each new crisis will be overcome. (There is at least one per episode, rather more as the end of season approaches.)Amongst the bonuses relish those nine webisodes where various Molloys demonstrate tricks of the trade. That gag reel also is funnier than most.It took me a while to adjust to the show's wavelength, everything at first a little too way out. Then I "got it" and could not have enough.Riches indeed!

This is quite an intense story and like 'Breaking Bad' I get het up and can't watch ...
Very please with this purchase which was delivered speedily. I have a thing for Eddie Izzard anyway so enjoying watching this. He is a superb actor and now I know why he is so popular and well known in the states. This is quite an intense story and like 'Breaking Bad' I get het up and can't watch more than one episode a fortnight or so and have to be 'up for it' as I get agitated at the thought of their scam being uncovered and feel my blood pressure going up - the delicate flower I am :-). I appreciate that I won't be able to buy series 2 as it is not available in the format that you can play in the UK so I hope I don't end up with a sense of unfinished business because I am left 'hanging' at the end of Series 1.
