Awesome brushless kit with endless potential
TL;DR: This kit combines three of the most essential tools, that any contractor, carpenter or DIYer needs and WILL buy at some point. It's different from other brands in the way that all three of the tools included are among the top performers in their class. Competitively priced normally, downright affordable when on sale, super comfortable to use and top of the heap in performance. Check YouTube reviews! In my case I was upgrading from the brushed models of all tools included in this kit, these are my findings: The DCD791 compact brushless drill/driver is, as far as 18/20v compact drills go, among the most compact, fastest drilling and most powerful. Add to that the ergonomics - the mainstay of DeWALT tools - I love this drill. I've found that the only drills more comfortable to use than this one are DeWALT's own 12v Xtreme, 20v Atomic, (which are both great in their own right) and Metabo HPT's brushless compact drill. Metabo HPT's is by far the most comfortable drill out there in my opinion. The DCF887 3 speed impact driver is one to beat. It's incredibly fast. I leave it on speed 99% of the time. Milwaukee and Makita both make an impact driver that out performs this one, but not for the price. This Impact can be had for around $100, whether as part of a kit or bare tool. This is partly due to it's age, but it is none the less the best model DeWALT offers and it's top 3 on any reviewers charts. My kit arrived with the Type 2 version of the DCF887 which has improved electronics and safety features - negating any warranty issues that the Type 1 iteration had. DCS570 brushless circular saw. This saw crushed my expectations. I have cut many 6x6 posts with the included framing blade and countless feet of plywood with DeWALT's fine cross cutting blade I purchased elsewhere. I can easily get an entire wood-working project done on a single 5ah battery and this thing never bogs down. The blade brake works better than most, stopping in less than a full second it seems. The saw is mostly metal, so it isn't light, and it is a blade-right design, so it doesn't "replace" their 6½" brushed model for me, but it's a powerhouse and well built! Some may shy away from this kit on account of the 2ah batteries, but it's what sealed the deal for me. I already have a few 4 and 5ah packs, plus my 1.5ah packs which currently give life to flashlight included in this kit (DCL040). The 2ah batteries are an absolute must-have. They're tiny - same size as the 1.3 & 1.5ah packs, but include a fuel gauge. These battery packs are PERFECT for the impact driver and intermittent drilling. They'll make cuts with the circular saw, but don't expect miracles. The flashlight is old and overpriced as a bare tool. Unfortunately DeWALT doesn't invest much energy into their flashlights. That being said, rated at 140 lumens, it is very bright and sends a hot spot further out than some of my other flashlights that are rated at 1000 lumens... I don't know who is telling the truth here... Either way, it's great as a flashlight, okay as a worklight. It has become my go-to for dog walking at night and checking for snakes. 1.3 & 1.5 batteries have a second life on this guy. All in all, this is a dynamite kit. I got it on sale and it basically came down $100 per tool plus a free flashlight, batteries and charger. Which is SIGNIFICANTLY less than the bare tool pricing. Highly recommended!

Cords are TRASH! This saw is awesome!
I had the old 18 volt 6" saw and I loved it. The batteries are not supported and battery life was poor. This saw takes a full size blade, has a light, 2by hook to hang it while working, electric brake, accurate miter gauge, power and long life. With a 4 year old 5 amp battery I made over 40 cuts through 2x8's before the battery gave out. A great feature is the work light blinks when it gets low (around 10%) so you know it is going to die. It is lighter then my corded saw, has a huge foot plate, and the guard is metal and works great. I should have spent the money on this years ago.

Extra battery makes it Awesome!
For the record, I'm just a DIY'er, not professional by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, I love this combo kit as a great starting point. I was always too cheap to buy Dewalt tools for myself, but I got a chance to work with them on a job I had for a bit. Now, I wouldn't go back to the cheaper tools. The circular saw is in particular is my favorite piece (although I bought a different blade for finer cuts). Having 2 batteries really sealed the deal for me, though. The batteries last a good amount of time and the charger works remarkably fast so I'm not waiting for a fresh battery. Hands down, one of the best purchases I've made lately.

Brushless is Great
I was waiting for this set to go on sale, we’ll worth the wait. This is a great upgrade from my single Black and Decker 20v drill. Brushless motors are noticeably smoother. I used the drill to bore holes in a tree stump. My previous drill couldn’t get through 2 holes before dying. This DeWalt made five with only dropping 1/3 battery life. The flashlight feels less sturdy than the other tools, but the light output is surprisingly bright. It is also very ergonomic. The included bag is great, although packing it with the circular saw takes some strategic weight distribution.

Terrific purchase! Way to go Dewalt!
A fussy female contractor and finicky finish carpenter, I've used Panasonic cordless for 17+ years. I loved Panasonic's drills because my small hands couldn't remove the Dewalt batteries back then. And even if I could have gotten the batteries removed, the old Dewalt's were NEVER as balanced in your hand as the Panny's. Now that I have used these tools for a few weeks, I can't hardly believe the technology from my old HEAVY 18v tools.. to these sleek light highly controllable tools. Never had an impact drill for screws before either, and I'm SOLD! Wow... that's amazing. I DO miss my Panasonic Smaller 5 1/4" cordless circular saw though, just because it could get in to tighter spaces than the new full sized one in this kit. But I am thrilled with each tools performance in this kit and wished I'd have purchased it sooner. Buying the kit is the ONLY way to purchase them $$$$ savings. My Panasonic's can still be used until they die in conjunction with these new Dewalt babies... but will be getting recycled once those heavy batteries totally konk out.. which they are doing fast ! Buy these.

It's Dewalt... what more do you need to know?!
I used my previous Dewalt drill for over 20 years. It still works great but wanted to upgrade to lighter model and also get the cordless saw. I knew I would also need an impact wrench from time to time, so this combo seemed the right choice. In the month I've had it, everything works great. Battery life is good, and charges up pretty fast. The saw is very powerful. I would prefer the motor to be on the right of the blade... but can't have it all.

Great set of tools. The batteries are just large enough to complete small projects with the circular saw and more than ample enough for the drill and impact driver. The impact driver is my new favourite tool.
