Living in a dry/hot environment, I struggled with water spots constantly drying on my car and windows before I could even reach for a towel. This water filter has been a game-changer, eliminating that issue entirely. It leaves my car and windows with a flawless, streak-free shine after air drying, saving me significant time and frustration. It's a user-friendly tool that has drastically simplified my cleaning routine. I highly recommend the wheeled version, as it can get heavy when filled with water. Professional-level results every time.

I ordered mine back in February of 2022. When it first arrived I gave it a try and though I had just found the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to washing my car. If you live in a place where you have really hard water, like we do in Phoenix, this thing is just amazing. Makes car washing a breeze and cuts down my detailing time almost in half as I don’t have to go back and clean up a bunch of water spots. That was all at the outset and the honeymoon phase didn’t last all that long. I found that after just four washes I was getting a hardness reading well above 0 and started to see water spots. When you wash your car every other week that means these resin cartridges go quickly. I then ordered a set of replacement resin cartridges direct from the company, which mind you isn’t all that cheap. I put the new ones in no problem and was again super happy to be back to no water spots and an easy wash. Lo and behold about 4 washes later and the water spots returned and a high reading occurred. At this point I was on the search for a better solution and a way to get more washes for my money. I came across the RV Mod website that offers a conversion kit for this product where you can skip the resin cartridges and out resin directly in the canisters and get a bunch more uses out of the resin you put in there. I gave that conversion kit a try and it too worked great and once again I was super happy with my CR Spotless DIC-20, even if I had just spent yet another $200+ for the kit and resin. Fast forward to today and I was washing my car and was very happy with the results I was seeing. Car was super clean and I was able to just blow the water off with zero spots. As I continue to proceed with drying my car off all of the sudden there was a huge BOOM in the garage. Scared the ever living crap out of me! I then started looking around and what do I see…the DIC canister has exploded and water and resin was everywhere. Mind you I had the water turned off at the hose bib while I was drying the car so it’s not like water pressure continued to build up during that time. Have absolutely no clue what the actual cause of this was but extremely disappointed in the fact that this occurred, regardless if I had “modded” it to use the conversion kit. Something like that shouldn’t have happened and I’m just glad neither myself or my wife or kids happened to be standing next to it. All in all, a cool product but not worth the cost that the resin refills cost as well as the fact that this didn’t even last me a year before the plastic canister blew up on me.

This is a fantastic product, if you're not as stupid as I was. If A few weeks ago while washing my car, I was too slow when drying my metallic black BMW 650i, and I ended up with some water spots on a small area at the rear of the car. Those spots turned out to be so impervious to any spot remover, that I eventually had to have a detailer buff them out of the paint, which of course removed the expensive Ceramic Pro coating I had. Before I reached that point, I decided that what happened to me, would probably happen again if I continued using hard water. After some research, the solution was clear. I needed a CR Spotless deionizer. I received mine on time, and couldn't wait to try it out. Assembly was a snap, with little to put together, and very clear instructions. Within 20 minutes, I was hooking the nice stainless steel clad supply line, up to my very hard household water supply, and connecting my water hose to the output side of the unit. I attached the supplied spray nozzle, and immediately began washing my slightly spotted car. After the final rinse was finished, I proudly strolled into my house, confident that I would return to an air dried car with no additional spots. To my horror, the entire car was covered in water spots. I contacted customer service at CR Spotless to find out what they had done wrong. I have to say, John, and the rest of the staff, handle things promptly, with courtesy, and a knowledge that gets things solved quickly. You see, if you take mineral filled, hard water, and put it through their DIC 20 System, the water will reach the output fitting mineral free. This is the important part of my review, and my main purpose for writing one. DON'T USE AN OLD HOSE ON THIS UNIT! The 10 year old garden hose I attached to the outlet, was so contaminated with minerals, that the deionized water dissolved many of them on its way through the hose, and then redeposited the minerals on my black car. These spots we're so tenacious that I eventually had to have them buffed off, and my expensive ceramic coating reapplied. Switching to a new hose, dedicated to this unit totally solved the problem of spots. Now I can rinse the car and walk away with no towel drying. When I come back, the car is beautiful! Don't hesitate to buy this deionizing system, just don't use it until you get yourself a new water hose! It should be common sense, but I didn't think of it, so I hope this review keeps someone else from making the same expensive mistake I did.

This is a must if you have hard water. I was shocked that it left absolutely no hard water spots on my car and truck, even on the glass. Well worth the cost. Considering how much you pay for your vehicles, and this helps them last. No leaks. Works very well, and easy to use.

I am very disappointed in myself for not buying this sooner. I have been a hobbyist detailer since I could help my dad apply and remove wax (for about 30 years). For a little over a year back in 2010 I detailed professionally. I never did break down and buy a CR spotless system because I thought the price was too high for the potential reward. A few weeks ago I washed my car and despite my best efforts ended up with very bad water spotting. Lots of rain lately has made our water mineral rich I assume, and the full sun was making it tough too. That's what broke me, and I ordered one the next day. What I failed to understand most perhaps is the time you save by not having to constantly fight against the sun to keep the vehicle wet or to dry constantly as you go, and then not having to dry the vehicle off afterwards. That will make up for the cost to me alone. I did 3 washes with this the first time I hooked it up (in full sun, 77° weather) and I didn't dry any of them. All three finished flawlessly. I can honestly say the best washes I have ever had (and that's probably at least 1,000). On top of that, my black/polished very intricate and hard to clean wheels have absolutely never looked better. I only use high end products (as in typically not available in stores) and even with that and heavy rinsing and scrubbing every nook, cranny and surface of the wheel inside and out have never seen them be so clean with just a wash. The only difference is the CRS. To say I am very pleased with the product is an understatement. I encourage you if you like to keep your vehicles clean to buy one now. The system is very easy to use, and it will save tons of time.
