CURLSMITH Miracle Shield Heat & Environmental Protection Spray

I use this when I diffuse my curls but don’t use a leave in conditioner with heat protection. It’s good to have the option of just thermal protection without other ingredients. Sometimes the styling products I use are hydrating enough so a simple heat protectant is all I need. My strands are bleached and toned so I need a high level of heat protection to minimize damage. I only diffuse on medium heat but often on high speed. Especially if it seems to be taking forever to dry my hair. This heat spray doesn’t weigh my hair down and it may be my imagination but it also seems to help with frizz and that’s always a good thing. It also smells really light and fresh. It doesn’t take a lot of product to get good coverage. My hair is coarse and thick but this travel size has already seen me through at least 5 wash days and there’s plenty left. It also doesn’t make my hair staticky. If my hair doesn’t have enough moisture it can get major static issues. There’s enough hydration in this spray to prevent that problem. My only qualm is how pricey this heat spray is. However like I mentioned it’s tricky to find a heat protectant that is just that: a heat shield, with no other conditioning ingredients. I don’t use it every wash day. It really depends on which styling routine I’m doing (which depends on the weather in large part). But when I use it along with the Curlsmith styling products in particular, I usually have a great result. This isn’t to say this heat protectant only works with other Curlsmith products. It works just fine with everything I’ve tried it with so far, including drugstore products like Umberto Gianinni Jelly and Banana Gel and Not Your Mother’s super hold gel and mousse. I guess I see the price as an investment in my curls. But every now and then this spray appears at TJMaxx or Marshall’s and when it does I stock up! The larger size is a far better buy however. Now that I know I love it, I will save the baby size for travel. I just wish it had a continuous mist bottle like the OGX Bond Repair leave in conditioner. It would make it easier for those of us who have arthritis (little pump gadgets can be painful to use for us). All in all I highly recommend this product (and this brand for curls). The only caveat being if your hair is really really dry. Something like the Pureology 21 leave in, Pantene’s Miracle Leave In or L’Oréal Elvive 21 leave in would be better options because these offer moisture and hydration in addition to heat protection, just fyi.

This is my 3rd time repurchasing this product bc it is that good. The heat protection works. It’s lightweight/ doesn’t weigh my waves down. Great at detangling the hair after the shower. Worth the money 👏

I am trying out Curlsmiths Miracle Shield prior to blow drying my naturally curly hair. I am looking for protection against heat damage and environmental stress. This is a vegan product that contains some powerhouse ingredients like shitake mushrooms, guava and pressed olives. It takes just a couple pumps on damp hair then work it through. It feels nice with a little slipage and doesn't weigh my hair down. There is no scent. It is one of those products you do not see immediate results but just have to trust it is helping to protect your hair and keep it healthy. The only down side is it is a little pricey.

Fantastic at preventing UV damage heat damage and any other damage you can think of! This is part of my straight hair and curly hair routine. I even use it before I swim. This product works amazingly even better than all the silicone heat protectants that have tried and I can’t recommend it enough.

I love this stuff. It has become a part of my hair routine. It’s been a great line of defense against the harsh WI weather. It has a nice mild scent too (I wish all of their products had a light scent, or no scent option). It’s lightweight and doesn’t weigh down my 3-B curls. It seems a bit pricey, but it’s worth it, and it doesn’t take too much. A little bit goes a long way. It doesn’t affect the texture, which is good for me.

I recently embarked on a serious hair transformation journey, trying different products and learning about the science behind hair care. I tried the CURLSMITH Miracle Shield, and while I really wanted to love it, it just isn’t for me. With my very fine, curly hair that tends to be dry, this product left my hair feeling a bit weighed down and sticky. However, I must say that the smell is absolutely delightful! Although it’s protein-rich and it claims to offer good protection for curls, the heaviness doesn’t work well with my hair type. If you prefer lighter products, this might not be the best fit. However, if you don’t mind a bit of weight and enjoy a fantastic scent, it could be worth a try!

I have naturally curly hair but very thin. I normally wear my hair straight. I bought this to try as a heat protectant and it is amazing. Because my hair is so thin product texture is really noticable and can make my hair appear dirty. This product makes my hair smooth and soft and eliminates the frizz. My hair texture after using this is amazing. Cannot recommend enough.

Great heat shield. Saves my hair from heat and keeps my curls soft and healthy and bouncy. It works really well for my curly hair and is super light weight and not sticky. It is a bit pricey but is worth it and I will buy again.
