Fruit Fly Trap - 2PK

I have to say. I was very skeptical about a bottle just sitting there waiting for these fruit flies to go in it. But I can now say, a week later after buying this, this really works. It’s all about GIVING IT TIME. It did NOT work for me the first 3-4 days. But after the 5th and 6th day came. I was surprised. There might be one or two out there still but I really don’t have to worry about them any longer. This is great. It really works. Just have some patience. And shake the bottle as per instructions. I was shaking it once every other day so it can attract them more maybe. But I definitely recommend. It’s easy install, natural and most importantly. It works! FYI, the smell is really strong. If it gets on you, the smell stays but u can wash it off with SOAP and the smell goes away. But nothing crazy.

Got this every year and it was great but not this year. Like all companies they messed with the ingredients to save money and now they are not working. I watched them fly around it and not a one of them ever went in. It has been out for three days and nothing. Save your money their glory days are gone!

Takes a little patience and understanding, but wonderful. At first it seems anti-helpful. Since it attracts fruit flies to be trapped, for a while you will see MORE fruit flies. I'd say essentially no flies after maybe three days, or just an occasional fly. Take the top off and look inside, you see nothing, but look inside with a FLASHLIGHT and you see thousands of dead ones on the bottom. My guess is that it takes a few days to fully interrupt the fly breeding cycle.

This fruit fly trap helped reduce the number of fruit flies in my kitchen, but it did not eliminate them completely. It was easy to set up and I like that it's safe around pets and people. The design is also simple and unobtrusive. However, it took longer than expected to see results, and I still had to address the source of the fruit flies to get the problem under control. It works, but not as quickly or effectively as I had hoped. Overall, it's a decent product and may help with minor fruit fly issues, but don't expect instant or complete results.

This works. It is relatively expensive. Also, it takes time to work.

This is a comparison review of this and the following competing products: TERRO Fruit Fly Trap [ASIN:B01MRHXM0I] (4 traps) Super Ninja Fruit Fly Traps for Indoors [ASIN:B0D5DJ7V4P] (4 traps) Aunt Fannie's FlyPunch Fruit Fly Trap, Indoor Kitchen Use [ASIN:B00WMZMHPW] (1 trap) Wondercide - Fruit Fly Traps for Indoors [ASIN:B09WJLKZP1] (1 trap used) We had a bloom of fruitflies explode from our kitchen garbage can, as well as fruitfly larvae and pupae in our outdoor garbage can which persist across multiple cleanings and sprayings. I bought the first two traps above, started using them, then when they caught fewer than expected, used a rechargeable handvac to catch most of the remaining flies but also purchased and added the last two traps. I then left the house for 10 days for a trip and upon returning examined the traps. Here are the results: 1. Super Ninja caught way more flies than all of the others (30 or 40). 2. Terro caught the next many, perhaps 1/3 the number caught by Super Ninja (~10). 3. Aunt Fannies and Wondercide caught the fewest -- 3 and 2 flies, respectively. 4. Homemade trap (apple cider vinegar with soap in an open bowl) -- 0 flies This was not a scientifically setup test. For one, I used more Terro and Super Ninja traps than the others, and there were more flies in the house when I used them. Nonetheless, I was surprised to see how many Super Ninja caught. I say this because I watched the flies examining the traps. They generally landed and explored, but didn't go in. (I guess they later went in, after all.) They landed more on Wondercide and Super Ninja than I saw them landing on the others. Wondercide smelled the strongest, had significant residue at the bottom and says to shake it up. However it was by far the most expensive, didn't catch many flies, the usage instructions were contradictory, and it is a much larger container than needed. The Super Ninja were small, convenient (came with a screw-on lid and no need to pour liquid like the Terro traps require), and came with 4 traps. If I need more traps in the future, I will buy those from Super Ninja. Wondercide were the only opaque traps, and you could not see whether they had caught any flies. This was a disadvantage in determining whether they were working.

Worked for me! Attack gnats at the source. Gnats and fruit flies love garbage, fruits, food, and water sources. Get rid of those things and the wondercide will work. Take out trash and clean thoroughly especially the sink (do not leave dirty dishes or water in the sink) Make sure the water in the drain (p trap) is not suitable for the fruit flies by leaving soap or bleach in it. Or just pour boiling water in it from time to time. I will say I had to supplement with cleaning of the sink with a lot of dish soap and the drain. I made sure I kept the sink clean, left bleach in the drain overnight or for hours, and stored the canister of wondercide next to my produce (fruit) on the counter. I recommended this for a friend and they had different results. (I'm not sure if my friend did the same thing/ also they had pets) Also I would sometimes pour boiling water in the sink from time to time without bleach. Another easy way to get gnats down was to use a lot of dish soap to clean the sink and make sure it got bubbles and bubbly in the drain. I will also note that I did the cleaning with the bleach in the drain without the wondercide and the gnats stayed. It wasn't until I did everything with the wondercide that it worked and continued to work for months (I didn't have to keep up with the bleach in the drain and cleaning aggressively. I only did this initially) Bottom line: do your best to get rid of the gnats by yourself with the product OR use this product and continue like you would normally try to get rid of the gnats. Once you get rid of the gnats keep this product by your fruits, near the sink or just in the kitchen and you won't see gnats for months. If the flies return later check the canister and replace it. *Also I used one canister at a time. I hope this helps! ***Some people may feel like this is too much but I don't think there is a miracle product for gnats and fruit flies. If there is an old banana and a trap the flies will simply go to both. That's why you have to do some work and use a trap.

Worst purchase for plant bugs deterrent. Had two of these sitting out for a month now and neither has attracted and caught a single gnat/fruit fly.
