Works great.
Plenty of YouTube woodworkers use these diamond stones, and they’re right. Works as advertised. The Trend brand is highly recommended. There is a difference in the material and manufacturing of cheaper versions, which probably won’t last as long or work as well. I’d suggest doing some research before buying a lees expensive product.

Great sharpening stone
This has been a quality stone. If you are like me, It is difficult to decide what type of sharpening setup you are going to use with hand tools if you are just getting into it with little to know knowledge to pull from. The diamond system is what I landed on. So I can't compare to Arkansas stones/whetstones at the moment. I can say I find these very useful when sharpening chisels in particular. I don't love sharpening my plane irons on them, but I do. The stone is not wide enough to work the plane irons straight on, so I have to skew my blade to hone wider plane irons. For the record I am a hobbyist woodworker for sure, no expert here, I'm just here sharing my experience. The diamond stone could be considered "expensive" so it kind of stink to have to buy it, but if you are using hand tools, having a way to sharpen your tools should be placed as a higher priority than the tool itself. A dull blade is just plane not safe to use, and it doesn't work the way it should, which will make you stop working with hand tools all together. I would buy this again, and I would recommend it to a friend. Just know you will have to work a little harder to sharpen your plane irons. I use the 300 / 1000 combo and finish with a leather strop. Probably not the sharpest tool, but that gets the job done for me.

Great Diamond Plate but not wide enough
Please read the dimensions before purchasing this diamond plate, the images all look like this is a full size plate and it's not. Other than the width this is a fantastic diamond plate, it will need to be broke in like any diamond plate. Very fast metal removal on the 300 grit and just what you would expect on the 1000 grit. I bought the lapping fluid which is way over priced, if you start using with water then that is all you need, if you must use lapping fluid I suggest baby oil since it is pretty much the same stuff.

When you want the best
Trend makes top rate stones. They are not cheap, but worth the $, especially when you want the best edge put on your expensive tools. Great for hand planer knives, lathe tool edge touch ups or just general shapening. Make sure to use a lapping lubricant to get the most out of the diamond stone.

Great job Trend!
I purchased this stone a few months ago and have used it a number of times already the results I get from it are incredible!! 10 to 20 swipes on each side and you can shave your arm hair with them! Trend keep up the great work you have a life long customer here!

Works well
I got this and the oil. So that I could sharpen my carbide wood lathe tools. Saved me a lot of money doing it myself.

great stone, no storage pouch included
The stone itself seems to be very good! Only thing I don't like is that no storage pouch was included. Both the advertisement here on Amazon and the box it came in state it should have a pouch, but no storage pouch was included.

Necessary piece of kit for sharpening
Following the R Cosman setup, one diamond stone to work rougher grits (300 / 1000) and to flatten a higher grit water stone from time to time. To avoid rust, a water additive is recommended - but really expensive. I have used de-mineralised water for ironing with an anti-rust compound; dirt cheap and no problems so far.

Good quality stone
Good quality stone. Nice & thicc. Can see it lasting me a long time, with only occasional touchups on my chisels & plane blades. I'm always pleased with Trend gear.
