Am i able to save scanned photos to a usb drive?

I have tried to save directly to a USB drive but found that my typed data for those photos I identified went into separate files. That's okay but not what I wanted. If you have an iPhone and a Mac (computer) then you can save the photos with data directly to your "Photos" folder and then they can be downloaded to your Mac and then to a USB. I have a PC so that doesn't work. I have to use another method - which I haven't yet discovered.
