Pokémon TCG: V Battle Deck Bundle - Lycanroc vs. Corviknight (2 x 60 Card Ready to Play Decks & extra cards)

I purchased this deck pack as everyone in this house loves pokemon. Hubby and myself play regularly. Whereas our 8 year old daughter collects the cards but is only just learning to play the game. Being level 1 play decks these are both good decks for new players to learn with. Containing a higher level of energy cards then higher level decks, allows the player to power up their pokemon to attack their opponent more easily. While Pokemon TCG is a tactical card game being beginner decks these are quite forgiving and don't require a high level of tactical play making them ideal for new starters. While the lead pokemon in the decks Corviknight and Lycanroc are your main players these decks do not rely on these characters in order to win the game unlike some higher level decks. Corviknight is probably slightly more powerful than Lycanroc but on the whole they're reasonably balanced and fun to play. As well as the card decks you also get 2 paper play mats which are ok but if you're going to play regularly you may want to invest in a more durable play mat. Also included is 2 sets of pop out cardboard damage counters, how to play guide, 2 plastic flip coins, rule booklet, and instructions on how to upgrade the decks if you wish to, 6 reference cards, 8 addtional trainer cards including 2 foil cards, and 2 code cards to be able to play the decks on the Pokemon TCG online game. They're really good value for the price and great fun to play. I'm really pleased with this pack.

Both these decks are really fun to play. Not overly powerful or one sided, they both offer some fun, simple strategy to use and enjoy varied battles. Would certainly recommend.

Great simple starter pack to learn how to play. Not legal for tournament use as these cards are the old yellow borders, and are now obsolete, but that needn't stop you using them in friendly games

Great for beginners as there are two decks included all ready to play. The paper play mats are not easy to play on as they don’t lay flat and won’t last long being folded and unfolded, but better than nothing. I bought the Pokémon trainer board game so we have switched out to that playing board. I will be buying plastic card protectors too to help prevent the cards being damaged from a lot of handling. Good value for money as we will have many hours enjoying playing this. Unfortunately there were a few things missing - we only received one instruction booklet and one set of reference cards and we didn’t receive the guide to upgrading the decks which would have been very useful. Overall happy with my purchase which I feel is good value for money bearing in mind there are two full decks plus extras.

The decks included are very good for casual play and are a good way of getting started. Yes there are some duplicates as reviews from people who don't know how to play have pointed out. If you're looking just for collection value, not worth it, if you're looking to get into the game and play with other people then 100% get this. Only problem is that the steel deck is vastly better than fighting
