Q: How "tall" is it? I mean what is the distance from the wall to the top of the bar?

The height of the whole bar is about 2.5 inches by the outside of the bar, to the wall, as it is installed at our house. Could secure ends on to small blocks to raise it if you needed extra clearance. But it works very well, as installed, and leaves plenty of room for my dad’s gorilla fists, to grab and hold on comfortably, without scraping his knuckles. And the bar is really pretty too.

Q: Can you use on a marble shower

yes, this can be installed on a stone surface- but you are going to need to have it installed correctly- using a diamond tip masonry bit suitable for drilling stone, and then install proper anchor bolts/taps so you will not A) shatter your marble, or B) have the bar tear out of the wall when it does the job of supporting weight. hope that is helpful, and good luck!

Q: What size drill bit for a wall mount?

To my best recollection it does not require any special drill bit. Just a standard one for predrilling a screw hole. There are a few on each end of the handle mount and there is an eschuchion that locks down over the flanges with the screws so it looks more decorative. We have ours on a stairway in the living room and it is quite sturdy and beautiful. Highly recommend this product.

These bars are really nice, sturdy, and have a beautiful bronze sort of color which darkens up a bit in the area where the hand grips are. They do not look industrial or like a hospital at all and they're really strong and comfortable if you attach them into your studs. The accents around each end are really attractive. I'm very happy with mine. I'm not totally sure you would call it a champagne gold finish since in my mind that has some hints of silver which this does not, but it is a nice bronze.
