This is super cool! It gives heat without there being any sort of light. My cage is kept in my room so this definitely works in my favor. Also the lizards can still have their heat and can sleep in pitch black darkness. When I first got this light, I thought it was broken. I didn't realize that there was no light.

I guess I should have read the reviews before purchasing ...
I guess I should have read the reviews before purchasing this for a very sick hedgehog. The quality and construction is very concerning the screw in part isn't connected correctly and is lopsided. Almost wiggles which could most limey start a fire. I will be returning this as soon as I can.

Decent heater bulb for the birds!
I use this to keep our parakeets warm during the winter. This one is a bit too hot and can get unvenly heated on the bulb but it hasn't failed on us after two winters of use. I keep this one about a foot away from the cage, so I don't reccomend it if you want something closer, get a weaker one. The strength of this one does however radiate wide so that it encompasses a good portion of the cage while set up a foot away.

Very hot when touched, but doesn't heat/warm anything beyond 2"
Does not throw heat at all. The only time you feel the heat is if your hand is about 2" away. I will not use this because if one of our rabbits touches this with their ears or nose, they will get burnt like I did.At first I didn't think it was working because there was no heat, until I tapped it and yes, it is hot, but doesn't radiate anywhere except from the surface of the bulb.I do not recommend this.
