Invincible: The Ultimate Collection Volume 11

I've said before and will say again that Invincible is the best superhero comic of the last 10+ years. I've been following it through the hard covers and when each one comes out I tear it open and read it the same day. And usually take down the previous volumes to reread. As a grown up without much time, that's high praise. This volume follows the major changes of the last few books. Invincible has left Earth and become a father. While he was gone, the superhero Robot has quietly taken over the world to pursue his Utopian vision. And, so far, done rather well. With this book Kirkman takes new chances, which I won't spoil. The book includes an interesting look back on Invincible's earliest adventures which only reminds me how good this book is. There's also an art change with long-time artist Ryan Ottley stepping down for original artist (and co-creator) Cory Walker. I'm not sure what the story behind the change is but both artists are great and there's no change in quality. The book is planned to wrap up with issue #144 (this book covers up to #132) which is the only bad news. it will be missed.

Great quality and much easier to read than a huge compendium. I prefer the larger prints and higher quality paper. I now own all 12 books and couldn't be happier with the set.

Invincible (2003-2018), by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley (Image) Championed as “the little book that could”, this series has been surprisingly consistent throughout its lengthy run. Nominated for multiple Eisners (including “Best New Series” and “Best Continuing Series”), what started as a guilty pleasure quickly turned into an enduring staple in my collection. Whether you have binged this series or been along for the whole fifteen year ride, it’s been fun, real fun. It’s a credit to the genre. I appreciate that even Walker recognizes Ottley’s superior art. The pacing of this book is a little fast. I would have welcomed them to allow some of the arcs to “breath” a little more (the characters are that endearing). Invincible always deserves a 5 out of 5.

I'm not normally a fan of super hero comics. Invincible is an exception. I also think this is Kirkman's best work, and far superior to The Walking Dead, even in that comic's earlier issues.

As advertised - product was great and no issues with the purchase

Kirkman has writen an incredible saga, that makes other companies plots fall impotent. Invincible addresses what is right about comics, and handles it in a way what the other companies seem to have forgotten. I whole heartedly recommend this series/ Collection for anyone who love comics and cherishes what they used to mean.
