worked good for carpenter crayons but not good for carpenter pencils

I needed a non powered pencil sharpener. this does the job.

Works great at sharpening a carpenters pencil.

Recently ordered 2 dozen flags that had a larger stick that was impossible to push into the very hard Arizona ground. Since there were 24 flags, a much easier way of sharpening the ends was a must. This sharpener is typically user to sharpen flat type contractors pencils, so my thoughts were to try it on the wooden flag sticks. Worked like a charm and made adding a tapered end to the flag sticks quite simple and a great re-purposing idea.

I bought it to sharpen carpenter pencils. It sorta sharpen them but brake the end off most of the time. It's almost worthless. A reg knife works better. Dont waste your money.

It a little clumbsy, but sharpens flat pencils pretty well, but dont push too hard because it will keep breaking the point.

Feasibility

Have to admit that I didn't buy a couple of these to sharpen pencils with. Do a really good job making shavings off of sticks for tinder and sharpening them to roast food over the fire. Handy for camping and doesn't weigh much, and holds up very well.

Nice sharp carpenters pencil sharpener. Took an absolute age to arrive, but works well and does the job

Bought as a quicker alternative to using a knife however it just mashes the carpenter's pencils to mush... Not worth it
