Showed UTI infection then all clear results after treatment
My dog had typical symptoms of a UTI, dripping urine, frequent squatting to attempt to pee but not much pee coming out, having accidents at home, and I am also pretty sure there was blood coming out from his penis on at least two occasions. I know doctors usually prescribe antibiotics for this however we've been waiting for a vet's appointment for a month so in the meantime, since the symptoms have not been improving, I managed to buy these urine tests (the same urine tests they run in Vets4Pets cost £60-£80 per one!!!) and then find a Protexin Veterinary CystoPro - Bladder and Urinary Support for Dog capsules. My dog had one capsule every morning. I also added water to his food, and added around half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to his breakfast and dinner for the first 5 days (then only half a teaspoon for breakfast), also went out for short walks more frequently, for my dog to pee and flush it all out without holding it in for too long. The test showed a UTI infection and no glucose in the urine helping us establish what the problem was. Before, the urine test (I did two tests from two different urine samples, only took a photo of one that day) showed a high Ph level as well as 500+ leukocytes in urine. In the photo you can see the last, bottom square is purple before and white after treatment - that was leukocyte levels. The dark green square in the middle indicating the Ph level also changed to orange after treatment indicating a lower, better, Ph level now. So in a week (just days day before our vet's appointment) we repeated the urine test and it showed everything cleared up. As you can imagine we had a very pleasant visit at the vet, he listened to us, examined every little detail, and said it all looks good now. We were told there is no need for any further treatment or diagnostics. I would recommend this product as well as the capsules, for at least trying out for a week before attempting more serious, antibiotic treatment. Of course, keep in mind all dogs are different, every organism will react differently, etc, I also haven't done any lab urine tests to comment on the accuracy of this test however all the results (both elevated Ph and leukocytes) and symptoms seem to be consistent with a UTI that was treated. I am still planning on finishing the pack of 30 just to be safe that it doesn't come back. I am really impressed with this entire process that we were able to do in our own home! The delivery was so quick also for both products I am reviewing! Next-day delivery. Way faster than waiting for the vet. The test also comes with a little flyer that my dog ate but from what I managed to retrieve from his mouth it had a good little analysis key for reading the results. For this price, it's very much worth it!

Must have purchase for all dogs
I purchased this product as I wanted to check if my dog has a UTI. Very clear instruction and easy to use. The results are checked against the bottle which are also marked clearly. Handy to have if your worried about your dogs health. I have not given 5 stars yet as I am still waiting for the vets outcome.

Was accurate for us
Seem very accurate. We thought our husky had a UTI and used the strips. Didn’t show any blood or UTI but showed suggestions of Diabetes. Took her to vets and it was correct out husky is a diabetic dog.

very handy and just what was needed!
I bought these as my dog appeared to have blood in urine, and while waiting to see the vet (appointment booked), I wanted to test their urine. - Now, after a little trial and error the strips do work as indicated, and the vets liked them too, however, beware mine came with no clear instructions for use, and the difficulty is - have you ever tried testing animal/dog urine before when they urinate on the ground and not in a container or collection pot. - Whilst these are good and do test urine, please bare in mind you have to dip the strips into urine and you may have difficulty doing that if they urinate on the ground outside as you have very little depth to dip the strips in, so consider collecting the water in a urine collection container prior to testing. - To use these test strips they have to be immersed below urine at a required depth!! - Also, I would recommend wearing gloves for sterility and hygiene. Plus the items really need to refer you to a video for guidance or have the facility to download or view a detailed instruction leaflet on how to use them safely, correctly, and interpret the test strips. - I am trained in K9/Canine First Aid and while I knew how to use them I did not realise how difficult it would be to test without the use of a collection bottle/container to collect the urine in. Just glad there is a lot of test strips to practice with. - I had sterile surgical gloves at hand so that wasn't a problem. - Plus if you wish to transfer these test strips to the vet for them to examine you may wish to buy airtight waterproof bags or sample bottles to put them in to safely take them to the vets for review and examining. - On a positive note, after I managed to use a strip and get an indication I then placed it in a waterproof ziplock sealed bag and stored it safely, then took the strip enclosed in the sealed bag along with me to the vets so the results could be examined and logged by the vets. - My vet did like the strips used and they gave a clear indication of blood in the urine. - I would recommend the test strips for monitoring purposes (I bought them to test my cocker spaniel/dog), but recommend you buy sterile medical gloves and a collection pot to aid safe, effective and hygienic use. - Then if you wish to store the used test strips and take them to the vet you may need a sample bottle of the correct length, or purchase some of those clear plastic waterproof bags with press seal along the top, which you buy for storing small items in the freezer, those bags are ideal to store a test strip in and stop it being contaminated while you wait to visit the vets. - Hope this review aids others as other reviews were not as detailed online.

Short expiration date
As a former laboratory technologist, these lipsticks are a wonderful asset to any cat or dog owner. However, I am quite dissatisfied with the expiration dates. This is the second time I've ordered these and both times, they outdated very quickly. Unless your pet is quite sick, you won't use all these before they expire.

Seems accurate!
I'm using the strips to monitor my dog's urine pH because of her UTI's. Being someone who has done a lot of artwork and printing over the years I was doubtful there would be good color matches because there are so many variables to the printing process, but I was very surprised. My dog tested a 6.0 pH on her last labs and it matched perfectly to the guide. (See orange pH layer 4 up from the bottom). I just try to stick it under her butt as she pees. Hard to time it though on a walk, but it's doable with my iPhone!

Some of These Work
About one in three of these work right. I’ve taken to dipping 3-4 at a time to see results on one. I’m only checking glucose, so maybe the other tests are ok. On some sticks, an edge works. I’ll have to look for better quality next time.

Make sure your dog's therapies are working without expensive vet visit
What I liked about these strips, is that I was able to test my pet's urine to see if the medicines were working. During summer, we live out in the country and it is a long drive for a vet visit. The hardest part was collecting the urine, as my dog likes to do her business outside and I wasn't able to get "pure" samples. I finally got her to pee on our clean cement walkway and gathered it that way. Not the best, but I was able to get readings and report her progress to our veternarian between visits.

4 stars just because i cannot confirm they’re accurate or not
outside of using multiple strips at the same time for the same sample, there isn’t really a method to ensure or validate that it gives accurate readings. i own a neutered male high uric acid (HUA) dalmatian and use this to make sure his urine PH is at a desirable level as a “pre-warning” to any kidney or bladder stone issues
