nice quality
Do not over saturate this with water! It will get too heavy, and the polymers will leak through. Great for keeping cool in the hot summer months. I bought this when the AC was out at work. Along with my desk fan, this got me through! Saturates quickly, so watch it and take it out of the water BEFORE it gets too big. Nice, comfortable material and a strong, plastic snap front.

Works as advertised in DRY climate
These don't do a whole lot in South Florida. They get warm quickly and it is so hot and humid that the evaporative cooling effect doesn't work that well. That doesn't mean these don't work, just not for me on the high-humidity days. But if you bring a little cooler with you and keep a pair on ice, you can rotate them and stay pretty cool.

Nice for heat waves
These things saved me last summer when the AC couldn't keep up with the heat wave. They warmed up faster than I would have liked, but they still helped.

Snap Stopped Working
I now have a mixed reveiw. Some things I love about this. But other not so much. So, I have updaed my review. At First...I Wrote: love this Neck Cooling Wrap.... The cooling Beads truely fill up the wrap-band. Please note that when you receive this neck wrap it will look like there are very few beads. These beads WILL swell to fill the wrap. The neck band is rather long in length to fit a thick neck. I have a small neck so, the wrap does hang down my chest a little aways. I can move it to widen out to my shoulders or even hang the extra to the back. It stays in place real well. I dont mind this as the whole wrap has beads with cooling action. This wrap has a snap closure instead of long fabric ends to tie together. I like both kinds of closure. This snap wrap looks less like I am a boy scout, so I think this kind scores more for the none-camping look. I will have to see over time weather the snap will start failing or not.Now after 2 months of use.... Im not totally happy with it. The Snap stopped working. So, it slips around and falls off when I end over. I now safety pin it closed. I had another issue that was my fault. I left it in a ziplock bag for several days and it smelled horrible. It took 5 washes with liquid soap to get enough of the oder out so I could stand wearing it again. The other tie neckwarps have not soared like this in that same time frame. So I am disapointed a bit. But, now that I know I wont do that again. I do love the plumper amount of gell in this neck wrap. And that it does not have the extra tie cloth hanging onto my tops getting it wet down my chest. Yes, the neck of my tops do get damp with this one. When I take it off I put it in a plastic zip-bag and toss it in my purse. I have it ready and avallible anytime I need it. I went out shopping and started to over heat and grabbed it. I was not near any water and put it on without re-freshing it.... ahhh, relief. It had been over 18 hours since I re-freshed it with water and it still helped cool me.Note... Do not leave it in a ziplock bag for more then 24 hours... AND...Before packing it away for the winter, make sure the wrap is dried FULLY!!

Good in theory; impractical (and unsanitary) in practice
The basic idea of a water-activated, reusable cooling method is a good one. Follow the directions and you will indeed get some cooling relief for a time. Unfortunately, the small neck wrap warms up quickly from body heat and and the cooling effect from the beads inside is quickly dissipated. Not useful beyond about 45 minutes in hot summer weather. In addition, this neck wrap gets VERY sweaty (and possibly dirt-covered) when wearing it to garden, mow, do other yardwork, sports, etc. You really need to be able to handwash such a thing; who wants a sweaty/crusty neckerchief? The only problem is that the neck wrap this takes DAYS if not WEEKS to dry out after being handwashed washed and hung up. You don't really want to store it away when wet, so the only recourse is to leave these damp, floppy tubes hanging over a towel rod or over a doorknob (or on a drying rack in front of a fan) until they are dry enough to put away. (Rather unsightly.) I think your best bet-- rather than purchasing this item-- is a cooling ice-pack style neck wrap that you can hand wash-- one that dries quickly and can be kept in the fridge or freezer between uses. This is the solution I eventually went for; it lasts longer and is far more effective and practical.

No more nausea in the heat.
My high school baseball coach had us put a wet towel around our necks and play through the heat. This gator is almost magical—it's so lightweight and doesn't look stupid like a wet towel does. This gator doesn't drip—it just cools me off. You can turn it around all day, receiving a renewed cooling off with each turn, and it keeps working. I've worn this (I have 2) on several "hot country" trips.

THIS WORKS!
I have a son who delivers for Amazon. They do provide water and cooling products. I bought this as a backup to put in his tote for work. He told me how this did not feel like a drag around his neck, it stayed in place and it stayed cool for quite awhile. The tan color did not stand out! A very good product!

Interesting idea, not practically usable.
Buried in the other reviews is the truth. I bought this after a running store recommended this type of device (not this one specifically, but the idea) for running in Arizona's often brutal heat. I tried this out on some yard work in California and was disappointed. 1) It doesn't really cool that much; 2) You aren't supposed to freeze it for fear it will damage the polymer beads; 3) the beads run out of the back where you want it (on your neck) and collect in front where you don't want them - it's a tube which is not compartmentalized. 4) It does feel cool to the touch for many hours, but I don't need that duration and would prefer shorter/colder. I have had better results by simply drenching myself and my clothes with water at the beginning of a run. Sorry this didn't work out, going to keep looking more carefully to see if a freezable neck wrap exists.
