Easy to Clean, Balances on Sink, Fine Mesh works with Small Foods
Pros- Easy to clean. The mesh meets fairly flush with the metal which helps keep small foods, such as rice, from slipping under the edge of the lip and getting stuck (common problem with plastic strainers).- Dishwasher safe.- Stays well balanced on the sink to strain. Saves the extra hand for carrying large or hot pots over to strainer.- Mesh is good size for small foods like rice and quinoa.- Versatile. Large opening and medium depth allows easy dumping and draining of pots of pasta and rice.- Well built and sturdy. Grip is natural to the hand.- Design lends itself well to storing flat on cupboard door.Cons- Opening is a smidge too large for dumping rice back in 2 quart pot after boiling without getting a couple grains of rice in the sink.I've used this strainer multiple times a week for several months now. It's my workhorse.I most often use it for the following: rinsing single to double servings of fruit (berries), rinsing rice, draining rice after cooking, thawing frozen veggies (peppers and onions), rinsing canned beans. The first picture shows it being used to rinse quinoa and lentils. The second picture, as a size reference, shows the strainer with four 15.5oz cans of red beans.

Perfect for rice!!
I desperately needed a new strainer. This is one of those purchases that I somewhat refused to make for a long time. I would read reviews and be afraid to make a decision and end up with something that was flimsy and rusted after being used twice. I used strainers primarily to rinse rice before cooking; a technique I learned a few years ago. I will say my little 3in mesh strainer one is ruined, so I have used this fairly successfully to strain tea also! If I have one complaint, it's that I cannot find this exact strainer in smaller sizes. I would love to have a small one for single mugs of tea!!!This strainer has a unique and sturdy feel to the mesh that allows it to be much stronger than similar items of generic quality. It feels good in my hand, with a very smooth handle, the bowl is deep and fits plenty of rice, and it is easy to balance on a bowl, standing strainer, or anything else! I rinse it as soon as I use it and put it to dry; I would not put it in the dishwasher if you truly want it to last. I am looking forward to placing this on a hanging hook in the kitchen. I find it to be beautiful enough to display, adding a nice feel to the kitchen doubling as a utenisl and decoration. I am also hopeful that by placing it on a hanging hook that it will keep shape and last much longer.

Quality at a fair price!
This is the best I have found for such a fair price. Superior quality to brand names (Rosle) as the handles are set w/screws not soldered. The mesh is also top notch and just the right size in width & depth. I can also hang the strainer on a hook. It doesn’t get better than this. Thank you “Yummy” for a quality product.PS. It appears Rosle & Wusthoff are no longer using their trademark “red markings”. Rosle has the oval red circle around their name & Wusthoff typically has the red square around the white W. I say this because the products may indeed be authentic without such markings. Wusthoff confirmed this by email regarding their “fish spatula.” Hope this helps someone as I returned more than one item, (and a lot of time) thinking the products were not authentic.

Nice quality, handle edges could be rounded more
Nice quality fine mesh sieve (the holes are very small). Rivers are used everywhere. Handle feels solid. Only negative is the handle edges dig into your hand a little bit: they're a little rounded but could be a bit more.

Sturdy
Can be a little difficult to clean but we knew how small the holes were. It’s sturdy and holds a lot! I like the length because you can rest it in your sink while you stain food out

Love this strainer for dry quinoa!
I always get so annoyed trying to clean out those tiny quinoas after rinsing in my strainer - well no more! This strainer does an amazing job as it has a really tight weave. The handle is solid and it seems quite well constructed. so happy!

Well made
This is a solid piece of kitchen gear at a very good price. If you need a large strainer, this is an excellent choice.

Professional looking item
Bought this item to replace a plastic one that had unfortunately been left in the wrong place on the gas hob. Not a good idea. This sieve is the same size as the one I had but much sturdier and cleaner looking, it has a very fine mesh so can be used for sieving virtually anything. Looks like something you would find in a professional kitchen so for the money I think it was an excellent buy.

Great product
Needed a metal sieve to drain hot food and this seemed a good mix of price and quality. There is some flex in the handle for the size, just don't try to fill it with potato and it's fine. Only problem with it is it's a pain to clean, the mesh is so fine that it traps crumbs, but overall very satisfied.

Really pleased with this strainer
Really pleased with this strainer. A nice big size - well made and stylish and (unlike my old, plastic strainer of the same size) it doesn't bend under the weight of a large portion of potatoes or rice. Very pleased, thank you.

Good quality product at a nice price
Bought this sieve to prevent pasta clogging up the sink when drained. Nice and sturdy with plenty of room for pasta for 4.
