Pamela's book is the ultimate kitchen resource for wholesome and nutritious cooking and the perfect gift!
So much to say! I bought one book for me and 6 more for friends and family! This is a great book for anyone that is looking to be inspired in the kitchen - and just generally wants to eat a balanced and DELICIOUS whole foods diet. I am one of Pamela's biggest fans so I was incredibly excited when her first book came out. I attend her cooking classes monthly and have been cooking the recipes from her classes and blog on a regular basis for several years now. I find her to be a wealth of knowledge about health and nutrition but her recipes are also incredibly approachable and absolutely delicious. I have changed the way that I cook for my family learning from Pamela how little tweaks can amp up the nutrition in absolutely everything you eat (like swapping in better sweeteners or fats or grains for almost any classic recipe). The book has become my kitchen bible and go to resource whenever I have kitchen questions, I am meal planning for my family for the week, or if I want to impress guests. I always get ooh ans ahhs when I prepare her recipes for friends and family!! The book is packed with lots of quick tips such as how to prepare different vegetables or grains, and stocking the pantry. You will never think veggies are boring again - Pamela has included so many inspiring salad and vegetable recipes that are almost always devoured by my picky little eaters. Pamela has an incredible ability to demystify recipes that might otherwise seem overly complicated (like making almond milk, or chicken/vegetable stock, or pastry dough - she breaks it down and you realize you can totally take it on) Thought I would highlight a few faves recipes in the book so you can get a sense for the variety and delicious combos: Breakfast: So many special breakfast entrees - don't miss the Migas, Sauteed Apple Power Bowl, and Cauliflower and Red Pepper Frittata. Snacks/Desserts: There are great snacks and desserts for on the go - chocolate hummus (!!), White Bean Tahini Blondies and the bliss balls are on our weekly rotation. Mains: So many . . . Chipotle Turkey Chili, Chicken Shawarma, Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos, Pasta with Kale, Walnuts and Ricotta, Chipotle Shrimp Tacos with Pineapple Slaw, Soft Polenta with Mushroom Ragout, Braised Lentils with Brussel Sprouts and Creamy Dijon Cashew Drizzle (and the list goes on and on). I highly recommend the book (obvi)! You won't regret it, and it makes a great gift!

Healthy Whole Foods
Iโve probably made about 12 recipes from this book. What I love is they are simple, approachable real food recipes... along with modifications to make them dairy free, gluten free, etc. The baked potato and Peruvian chicken soup are excellent (I topped mine with homemade guacamole, tomatoes, and jalapeรฑos). The energy balls are a delicious sweet treat without over doing it. The Italian style pot roast was delicious and different from what Iโm used to. The only recipe I had to adjust was the cauliflower and roasted red pepper frittata... I cooked it the 45 min listed and it was way over done. The picture above I made it with asparagus, kale and roasted red peppers... baking it about 25-30 minutes. This makes a perfect weekday breakfast or lunch. Do yourself a favor and get this book!! I use it almost every week and I had loads of cookbooks! Update the last picture is the lemon white wine broiled sole!! Delicious, I served it with roasted carrots and broccoli cheddar rice. Chipotle sweet potato chili: is out of this world. Sweet potato chili was never my jam until this. The secret? Shredded sweet potatoes that slowly cook with the other ingredients. No weird textures!! Itโs perfect, and my husband agrees. If you make this as is... itโs pretty spicy. So no hot sauce was needed. And we will have several meals out of it. Everyday dressing: great go to for salads!! I used more shallot than called for... but I think itโs even better. Way better than the bottled stuff! Picadillo: a classic comfort food!! A Cuban style stew... I served this up with some jasmine rice. Itโs a perfect stick to your ribs meal,m. Sweet and savory with sweet potatoes, olives and raisins- delicious. And makes for great leftovers too!

Your family will LOVE your family dinners!
Pamela Salzman has literally changed our family life! While I have known Pamela for several years, I started consistently following her blog and making her recipes one year ago. My family noticed immediately. Since then, I have made a "Pamela dinner" two to three times a week. Everything I make is a "hit"-- delicious, healthy, and nourishing. I have three teenage children: an older daughter who wants healthy and adventurous food, a son who simply NEEDS TO EAT, and a younger daughter, "Mrs. Picky" (you'll see Pamela refers often to her son, "Mr. Picky") who would eat pasta with butter and parmesean every night, if I let her. I can please all three with Pamela's recipes, which is no small feat! My husband is beyond delighted, and so complimentary. My girlfriends and I commiserate about how, every single day, we wake up and we are in charge of feeding our family all over again; Pamela makes this a breeze, not just with her recipes, but with weekly dinner plans on her blog, and tips along the way to give you flexibility and confidence. I was thrilled when Pamela published her first cookbook, Kitchen Matters. In it, she shares a collection of her recipes which represent just what she stands for: innovative, healthy, uncomplicated, and most of all, delicious! Since my focus is dinner, I highly recommend: "Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos", "Grilled Lemon-Herb Shrimp", "Wild Salmon 7 Ways", "Balsamic-Herb Flank Steak", "Picadillo", and "Sweet Potato and Quinoa Veggie Burgers". Pamela's cookbook is not only essential in my kitchen, but is my go-to hostess and birthday gift. I just ordered 5 more copies to have on hand, because I can't think of a better gift than to share the joy Pamela has brought to my family. Thank you, Pamela!!

Healthful, Delicous, Well Written & Inspired Recipes for the Home Cook
I first started following Pamela in 2010 after an article appeared in Elle about her healthful cooking classes. Back then, I was just a novice in the kitchen - newly married twentysomething just learning the basics of home cooking. Fast forward 9 years and Iโm pleased to say that Pamela has taught me SO much about cooking in general. Itโs because of her that I can whip up a mean form of minestrone (or any soup for that matter) in under 30 minutes. Itโs because of her that I feel confident making almond milk (and saving the pulp to add to my pancakes). Itโs because of her that Iโve adopted more plant based recipes into my repretoire. If you want a cookbook full of โsure thingsโ that will always be crowd pleasers AND always be wholesome, look no further. This book is for you. Everything is super easy to follow, and you might even stumble upon something life-changing. For me, the game changers have been her grain free chocolate zucchini cake recipe, and the grain free banana muffin recipe! Those two recipes are so good, I donโt need the alternatives loaded with refined sugar and flour. Thank you Pamela, truly!!

Healthy, fresh & easy to prepare meals for your family
I couldn't wait to get started on Pamela recipes after I bought her long awaited book! Her introduction Eat Well, Live Well, Be Well defines this bk. Iโve been lucky enough to take a few classes. Sheโs fun, diwn to earth smart and knows her stuff!! She includes great tips and answered every question i might of had while reading Kitchen Maters. Not only does she explain in simple terms how to achieve her reciepes she also can give alternatives for gluten free df etc. I have too many to mention what my familyโs favorites are so far but here are a few that we โค๏ธ Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower w/Raisins,Capers,& crispy Quinoa. I added roadted chicken. You can leave out what you donโt like but whatโs not to like?? I made the Quinoa salad w/cherries, almonds, celery & Pecorino, yum!! That combo was addicting! The crunch & sweet / salty cheese great taste! Eggplant meatballs..for vetergian night. now that was something im glad i tried & the Picadillo was a easy winner for me. The Desserts iโve made Plum Almond Galette. Super easy & delicious.. the hard part if anything was waiting chill dough 30min. This is a fresh new take on familiar ingredients youโve seen in the market, farmers or have on hand while not complicated! Iโm buying this book also for my daughters so they donโt take mine!

Is my favorite natural cooking blogger of all time I have been ...
Kitchen matters so first off let me begin by saying Pamela . Is my favorite natural cooking blogger of all time I have been following her for years, over year ago I emailed her saying I wanted to buy her cookbook, the second she announced that she was putting out a cookbook I pre-ordered it on Amazon probably a year before it came out! Pamela inspired me to cook more healthy for me and my family, to use better quality ingredients, cut out most processed foods, to switch over everything to glass and use kitchen gadgets that are non-toxic, her blog post inspired me to really change the way I live my life and create a home and food for my family, if you know me you know I love to cook it is my passion Pamela help me become a way better cook especially in a healthier way. My whole kitchen and my love for everything in it is so inspired by her. From my Heath ceramics to my all clad and the le crusets and ceramic waffle maker. She has done it all in a approachable way. So every single person needs to go out and buy her cookbook if they haven't already, I posted about her cookbook many times in my Instagram stories I wanted to wait to post it to my page so I could let you know some of my favorite recipes from the book> I love the grain free superseded granola, the apple blackberry breakfast Crisp, chocolate zucchini bread with apple and carrot, loaded baked potato soup, Saturday chop salad, The superfood salad, slow cooker chicken tacos, ~~pretty much every recipe in the amazing ๐๐๐ป thank you

Absolute best newish cookbook
A friend recommended Kitchen Matters to me, so I checked it out from the library. Wow. It's one of those wonderful cookbooks that has me tagging more than half of the recipes to try. And try I did. I kept it for several renewals as I cooked recipe after recipe, and then decided I needed to buy my own copy. I have not been disappointed a single time. Salzman's recipes are creative, healthy, made from standard ingredients, beautifully photographed, and the layout makes each recipe easy to follow. I eat gluten-free, and while this is not a GF cookbook, many of the recipes are GF, and almost all of them can be made GF easily. Some of my "new classic" favorites are Grain-free superseed granola, Chipotle Turkey Chili with Sweet Potatoes, Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower with Raisins, Capers, and crunchy quinoa, zucchini carpaccio, curried chickpea salad, and the grain-free chocolate zucchini cake. This book is absolutely destined to become a dog-eared, food-stained fixture in my kitchen for years to come.

This book gets me excited about cooking!
I don't normally write reviews, but I just had to this time! First off, I'd pay tenfold the price of this book; what a bargain for the wealth of knowledge and tons of recipes in return! I am no expert cook, but so far everything I have made from this cookbook has me looking like one! I've made three of the recipes so far and I'm so impressed! They are quite easy for most any level cook and full of healthy, wholesome ingredients. I felt so great this week after cooking from this cookbook, knowing that I was feeding my family healthy and delicious food at home. My husband is a true Texas Boy who loves his meat and potato type meals and my daughter can be quite picky at times too. They both loved the recipes so much, which I can't say often with some veggie filled recipes I've cooked them in the past. This book has gotten me excited again to cook more in my kitchen rather than eating out! Thank you Pamela!

Excellent livre

A fantastic everyday cookbook
Hands down the best cookbook I have bought. Everything in this cookbook is so manageable to make - nothing is complicated or super fancy- but it tastes fancy and so delicious. Everything is pretty healthful - which is kind of amazing to find in a cookbook- healthy and yummy. She has such a nice voice throughout the cookbook offering tips and suggestions- love it. Itโs great because she covers you from salads, sides, mains and sweets. Could not recommend more.
