Extra Large 5" Sailor's Knife

Mother of all boating / sailor's knives! This mirror finish, stainless steel knife is gargantuan in it size and weight: 9.6 ounces and 6" closed with its bail extended (5.25 inches closed with bail folded out of use). A 2.5 inch pocket clip is featured on one side and it can not be positioned on the opposite side. A hefty 3.5 inch marlin spike occupies a location on the spine of the knife and it benefits from an extraordinarily strong spring that halts the spike's movement both at its "half-stop" and working full stop. A lock seems superfluous . . . the marlin spike spring is that substantial. The 3.5 inch serrated sheepfoot blade is also well executed as it does lock via a liner lock. The cutting performance of this blade's 440 (?) steel is astounding for both the serrated edge and the plain edge easily "feathered" paper without any qualm. The liner lock functions fine and lock up is safely secure with a forcefully engaged snap. The knife also includes a bottle / can opener, shackle key and 3.5 inch ruler none of which I used. On the opposite end from the bail there looks to be a glass breaker protrusion / slot screw drive. Given its specifications, perhaps an intended use might be to throw it overboard and use it as an anchor . . . despite its excessive weightiness the knife has an appeal based on both its appearance and quality. If you don't drop it in the water, it should handily last a lifetime,

It has all the great features of the smaller sized knife which I love, but this one is way bigger. Great knife to have out on the boat.

The knife I received was much smaller than this. 2.25 inch blade, 3.5 inches long, etc. All the stuff of the small knife, not the large knife I ordered and paid for.

I gave one away and ordered another. Very big but usable.
