SYLVANIA LED Dot It Linear Swivel Light

Great lights, love the ability to move their direction up and down. Also like the placement of the touch on/off switch. The only thing I do not like is the adhesive. For me, I seem to either have adhesive that won't stick or adhesive that I cannot remove. The light is reliable and very useful for closets and small spaces. Mine is currently in my linen, coat, and bedroom closet.

As always I was searching for the perfect lighting system for my gun safe. One that was out of the way, yet easy to use and provided the light I needed. I bought two of these lights and mounted them in the safe. Due to the fact that the lights are adjustable it really makes them adaptable for the safe. The lights provided exceptional light in the safe and with the on/off switch having a definite texture to it, it makes using them a breeze. These lights are mounted in positions so that when you open the safe you won't see them which is exactly what I was looking for in a light. I did not want the clutter look. But knowing where they are I can just reach for them and feel the on/off switch without having to see them. They say light touch and they are correct. You just barely need to brush the raised studs on the switch.It does come with two mounting systems, A magnetic one that seemed like it would work great for those safes that have exposed metal to mount to. Mine is carpeted throughout so I just use the peal and stick that was on the back. I just mounted them last night and they felt good and secure. I will update as time goes on. So far these are the best lights I have found for a safe. I deducted a point simply because I wish they would turn off after a couple minutes of being on. I know I will close the safe leaving these lights on by accident. Other than that, these are a winner.Update: Jan 22, 2015 - Still working perfectly and the mounting tape has continued to hold them firmly in position. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I have two of these in my gun safe and one mounted underneath the cabinet where my microwave is. They are great for lightining an area for a bit. Mine are over a year old and work great, though they're not usually on for more than 5 minutes at a time or so. Just enought light to see to set the microwave at night, or get to this or that in a dark safe. I think they are great. I don't understand the bad reviews, but maybe folks think they should be able to replace plugged in light? I don't know. I think they're great for certain applications and recommend them.

I bought these as a cheaper alternative to hard wired or plug in cabinet lighting, and got exactly that...a cheap alternative. The lights do a fair job of illuminating the counter tops if the house is pitch black, but the faint glow of the LEDs is washed out if any other ambient light is present. Typically, LEDs do not use much battery power, but within a week of using these for 1-2 hours a night, the lights began to dim and several lost all power within two weeks. The cost of constantly replacing batteries will soon offset any savings of buying these compared to hard wired lighting.

I was hopeful with this product. However the Velcro provided is terrible. This light did not stay in place for more then 3 minutes. Therefore it renders the product useless to me. If you plan on purchasing this item, plan on buying decent velcro to replace what is provided. The light is kinda wimpy, but it's alright for low-light needs. We tried to put ours under the cabinet. For me, it was a waste of money.

This light only lasted for a few weeks. We used it to light up a small closet which it did a poor job of. The adhesive tape that connected the light to the velcro was not strong enough to hold up the light when attached to the ceiling, and the light went out after only a few weeks. I changed the battery, but it's permanently dead. Definitely don't recommend and regret buying this product.

I installed manual keypads on my house (can't be bumped and no batteries to die) but at night even with the outside lights on the numbers are a bit hard to see. I mounted these vertically on the door frame and swivleled toward the keypad and with a tap you can see the keypad easily. Bright, white light. I can see lots of uses for these handy items and the batteries seem to last a long time (sometimes my kids forget to turn it off and it is on all night). Beats trying to hard wire a "dot" light and slim design makes it easy to install in tight areas. Love this product!

My husband loves to keep these is the safe to give him extra light as it is dark in the top back or lower back portion of the safe.
