When I started learning to play the violin 65 years ago, these didn't exist. Violin strings were either sweet and mellow sheep gut, or harsh-sounding steel. The sheep gut strings were magnificent, but short-lived, and wouldn't stay in tune with variations in temperature and humidity. Then, some years ago a God-inspired genius developed the "Perlon" string, and there are no finer ones than Thomastik Dominant. They have a nylon core, they have a lovely sweet tone similar to the old gut strings, they stay in tune once broken in, and they are long-lasting. If you can afford them, buy these for your violin. You will NOT regret it.

Sound good I do want t try Evah's next but if they aren't anything better then these are a solid reliable source. E string sounds great A is nice too D is alright G perhaps can be sharper in sound but it's cool. I do like these Dom's and good deal here with fast shipping. Cheers

Sounds great like a Dominant violin string is known for.

I've never had an issue with these strings and have been buying them for 15+ years. I am a performer and teacher. However, this last string I bought was in September, but I didn't put it on my instrument until last week (January). After putting it on, within a few days it unraveled and then completely snapped. Very disappointed, especially because I cannot receive a refund or return as the window closed in October.
