Replaced broken latch
This latch kit fit easy peasy in the original bolt holes. The only modification needed was trimming the latch push about a 1/4 inch. I was able to with a serrated knife. As it was too thich for a scissor. The old system that broke after decades of use was made with metal pieces. This is plastic so not certain on how long it’ll last in comparison. The door will be replaced in the next year or two so no concerns on longevity. Install time was a few minutes. I’d acquainted myself with the directions prior so only needed the final step. Make certain to install the spring correctly. Or it’ll get stuck when you figure out it is the worn way and it’s a beaner to unstuck to restore correctly. The only issue I had was in regard to the vintage door of the house and how the previous people installed this more modern screen door to the trim. The latch barely protrudes far enough even with the two small plastic shims provided to hold the door secure. So needed a tiny modification. Using who shims to help. I’m happy with the price and functionality. Ease of install. Handle quality is adequate for our needs. Looks nicer than the OG white handle that came with the door. Probably in the 70’s. Since it is made of metal. Which cracked in cold weather and lots of use over the years. I’d recommend this product to replace a broken handle. Might need to get creative with the latch holder for a perfect fit. Other than this scored a win without having to run to the store.

Cheap and not very sturdy.
I've built several screen doors for out home and a couple of friends homes. Normally buy parts from HD but since I was ordering a soft door closer from Amazon I figured I would just get one from here as well. Built the screen door and installed it with little to no difficulty. Adjusted everything and it worked fine. Closer left a little bit to be desired but not bad overall. A couple of hours later when I went to exit and depressed the inside latch the assembly broke apart. I picked up the parts and found the actual spring-loaded latch had broken off. Contacted Amazon but only option I had was to call manufacturer. Called them and explained and they said contact Amazon. Explained what Amazon had said and the rep started telling me I was going to have to take pictures, write detailed explanation of what happened, etc. It's a cheap 7 dollar part and I just wanted to get it replaced. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T GET THIS POS. I just went down to Home Depot and paid 10 bucks for a unit a little bit better than this one. UPDATE: Bought another one since is was cheap and less of a headache than trying to get this thing replaced. Also a piece of junk. Same exact thing happened. Plastic push button actuator pin in handle keeps deflecting off to the side and binding on inner latch. Makes the latch bind and not function. Had to basically jam my knife inbetween the jam and the screen door to open it. Then it broke. What a waste of money.

My difficulty with button operated latch Set for Screen & Storm Doors, Black
I didn't have good luck with this model on my screened porch. It worked for me , but when my neighbor came over to visit ,they were locked out of pool enclosure . The plastic part of the door device didn't work for me ,so many times that I finally bought the $29 model that turned instead of pushed. Someone else may have better luck than me. What happened was ,the button would get stuck if you pushed too hard on it , and with many different people using it and different pressures used by the different people . They could not know that the door opener has to be operated delicately for it not to get jammed. Then I had to disassemble door opener to reset it.

Good value, takes time to get it right
We bought this to finally fix the front door latch and handle on the screen door and this product worked very well...once we figured out how to get it to work correctly. This is tricky as the instructions are not the most helpful (which is why one star had to go) but with enough time, effort and patience (definitely patience), you can fix what ails your door. Aside from the spring flinging off and the button falling off during installation (not because it is a bad product, because it was just hard to install as it was the first time my wife and I tried to tackle this and the instructions left something to be desired), this works well. Note, if you don't trim the black piece behind the button or put the spring on incorrectly, you are in for a challenge. If you take your time, measure twice and cut once, this should work like a charm. Aside from the installation instructions, this works well and looks alright. Our door is white and this handle is white so the button being black is kind of less than desired but it does the job. I think painting might not last long but I'll have to try that out. I would recommend but understand the need for patience and timing to get it right. Good product in all.

Great Push‑Button Latch Set That Works Smoothly
The Prime‑Line K 5007 push‑button latch set is a solid upgrade for any screen or storm door. The push button operates smoothly, the latch catches cleanly, and the night lock adds a nice extra bit of security. Installation is straightforward, and once it’s on, the door closes and latches with a satisfying, reliable click. It’s a simple, well‑made hardware piece that does exactly what you want it to do and feels sturdier than many of the generic replacements out there.

Not great, not all metal
UPDATE: I changed my score from 2 to 3 stars, as it seems the issue Inwas having needed the rod to be trimmed. This is my first time replacing one of these, so it could benuser error, but I didn't see anything that stated it needed to be edited until I looked back at the item on Amazon. After trimming, it's working. But I had to disassemble it multiple times to get it to the correct length. ___________________________________________ ORIGINAL: Barely suffices for my needs. The inner latch and outdoor-facing handle are made of metal, but the connecting rod on the outside-facing button and the button itself are plastic. So if you put a slightly bit more force, the handle jams. I'm actually quite upset, as now I need a new replacement handle for the new replacement handle I just bought

Absolute GARBAGE!!
I bought this handle, it was junk. After maybe a week of use it would not allow me to open my screen door. It was stuck but NOT locked. Thank goodness I had my keys to get into my other entry door. I was able to play with it and get it to work again. The second time, I had just stepped outside to untangle a windchime. Winter time, no coat on but thankfully had shoes on. Turned to go back in, would not open. The button was stuck in and no amount on banging on it made it pop out. It was freezing outside. No keys, no phone. My grandson lives two houses away. Thank Heavens he was home. I live in a very rural area and am elderly. I was panicking! Michigan winters are brutal and it was below zero wind-chill, people die. He had to brake the handle so I could get in. I bought a second handle. My son asked if I bought a different one. I told him no, what are the odds a second one would be defective? My life is based on Murphy's law. I now have a hidden key outside just in case. Same handle. My second purchase and it happened AGAIN. Not locked, just jammed and would not open. This handle is absolute GARBAGE!! It will leave you unable to get back in to your door. What a nightmare!!
