This Boogiio cable tester/locator turned out to be exactly what I needed as a new‑construction homeowner. None of our wall jacks were labeled (of course), and I didn’t want to spend Fluke‑level money just to identify which cable in the wiring panel matched each room. For quick home use, this little kit is perfect. Pop a 9‑volt battery into both the probe and the tester, plug the included RJ11 or RJ45 cable into the wall jack, switch the tester to FIND mode, and then sweep the probe across the bundle of cables in your panel. It localized the tone surprisingly well — I had a tight bundle of CAT6 lines, and it still let me pick out the correct cable easily. Everything is now labeled, and I can finally look at my switch and know exactly what’s plugged into each port. The tester function also worked as expected. All my cables were good (which is what you’d hope in a new build), and everything I connected to the switch performed normally. The included earphones are a nice touch if you don’t want the tone audible or you’re working in a noisy area. There’s also an alligator‑clip lead for tracing other types of wire like speaker runs. For the price, this kit is hard to beat. It does exactly what a homeowner needs without pretending to be a professional‑grade Fluke. I tossed everything into a zip‑loc bag for storage, and I’m very happy with the purchase.

So I’m a dual ticket electrician and have done communication cable in my career. This thing is awesome. I was swapping over a land based dish internet system to Starlink for some friends and it traced out wires in a bundle.l in 30 seconds. Tested pairs properly. Major time saving and very easy to use.

Function well, easy to use and find the cable. However, the voice is low and housing is not quality. Anyway enough for using in hobby job

Great little piece of kit, loud enough to be heard, makes an easy job of locating cables, the cable tester part is a little basic but as this was purchased for the cable tracker part it does the job fine. Recommended to buy if you need a cable tracker. Both units take a pp3 battery each and you can use rechargeable batteries (Amazon basic pp3 rechargeable are great)
