This is a very good lens and the current price is a value.
I like every feature of this lens. The auto focus is quick and crisp, the zoom function is very smooth and the lens length remains constant regardless of the zoom position. It is a little heavy so you need a very sturdy tripod to avoid camera shake in wind. I think the photos speak to the quality of the lens. I am using this lens with an XT-5 camera.

Big upgrade
I got this to replace my 100-400mm which was a great lens, but I love the extra reach and the INTERNAL zoom! --Biggest pet peeve with my 100-400 was the external zoom which I would always be locking and unlocking because it would just walk out all the time. Surprisingly lightweight and very handsome exterior. I use an X-H1 so I can't really take advantage of all of this lenses' features, but I still can't complain. I took it out for some birding at a nearby pond and was very pleased with the results. I like to shoot birds with a 16mm extension tube on, and in the past, my focus range was very limited at 400mm on my old lens. At 600mm with the macro tube on, I can still reach subjects considerably further away, although it obviously won't focus to infinity... still, this was a pleasant surprise. Both of the images attached were shot at 600mm with the 16mm macro tube at F8. Lots of people complain about the aperture, but honestly I couldn't care less. I shoot high ISO all day long and run my images through DxO PureRAW 2 and I am happy with the results. If you want to continue to shoot Fujifilm but want a more serious wildlife/birding lens, this is a great option. If I could afford Sony or Canon equipment, would I change? Sure, but since I'm happy with my Fujifilm gear collection, this will scratch that superzoom itch and I don't have to sell all my Fuji equipment to change to another system with even more expensive lenses.

Terrific lens for birding
I took this lens to grab some bald Eagle shots the other day. The birds were a LONG way away. This lens plus a 1.4x tele got the birds “acceptably close”. Image quality is very good (even with that combo). The lens is “light” (that’s a good thing) but it’s also slow — and even slower with that combo — (less of a good thing). At my age, I value the low weight of this lens and actually prefer it being a slow lens as a trade off. Hiking 3 miles with it was actually quite easy.

Fast and quiet operation.
Focus is fast and quiet and fairly sharp. The images taken are from my first outing with this lens, paired with the Fuji X-T5. I'm sure as time goes by the image sharpness will improve. The lens is light in weight making easy enough to carry all day using a sling strap. The supplied bag fits the lens rather tight making it a bit difficult to get the lens in-and-out of and is only good for storage not travel. Over all my score is Five Stars!

Gets you in the game for a great price
My only complaint with this lens is the slow aperture. Granted, it’s a $2K lens and not a $13k, so you can’t expect 600 F4 prime full frame results. Autofocus is very good, tracks very well, works great in cold temperatures. Adding the 1.4x TC gets you good reach, but at F11. I have to use Topaz AI Photo on pretty much all low light/non sunny day pics. But the end results are fantastic for a great price. I’ll let you be the judge.

Arrived DEFECTIVE. FUJI Quality Control FAILED
The lens arrived 3 days late. The package seemed to be brand new. Upon inspection, I noticed a foreign object, a tiny dirt on the front lens element inside the lens. Tiny, but obvious and ugly when I shined my flashlight into it. The dirt cannot be dislodged since internal. I did not attempt to install the lens on my camera, packed it back into the original box for RETURN. Had the condition of the lens been clean, I may have given this product 5 stars, since I have heard of the excellence of this lens, based on various YouTube videos and feedback. I asked for a REFUND since Amazon REPLACEMENT or EXCHANGE was not an option. I believe this is a a FAILURE of FUJI Quality Control since is the the second occurrence a Fuji lens had the same issue, in my experience. The previous one was a Fuji 90mm F2, which I had to keep since the Return Policy had expired. I would love to have the lens exchanged or replaced, if possible, but it had to be factory clean.Note: Amazon REFUNDED me as soon as Amazon received the returned item. The refund transaction was quick and immediate. No questions asked. Thank you Amazon, the reason I continue to do business with you.

Excellent reach and versatility
First time using a lens of this type. It feels a little bit heavy at first, buy you get used to it. Although the sharpness is not anything outstanding, it is still pretty good. It's main strenght is of course the reach and the versatility of being a zoom lens, besides the internal zoom that feels really nice to use.

I just have it for 2 weeks now. The lens is big but light, it’s kind of weird in a good way.
I just have it for 2 weeks now. The lens is big but light, it’s kind of weird in a good way. I love the auto focus presets. AF in an x-t4 is good so far. IS is really good, although most of the time I use a monopod.
