It's Good Music People, Give It A Chance
Here we go. Before I begin, let me state I am one of those that appreciates good music. I don't condemn bands with new members, it happens. It especially happens if a member dies. I liked the Motley Crue record with John Corabi, in fact it was Motley's best. This review is about Quiet Riot though. I liked the QR album with Paul Shortino, change is not always bad people. Kevin Dubrow was and will always be considered the classic voice of Quiet Riot. On the other hand he hasn't always been the voice of Quiet Riot, ex: the above mentioned Shortino album. James Durbin is an awesome talented singer and song writer. Road Rage is great. Does it sound like Metal Health, no. It isn't supposed to. These songs were written for now, not then. QR has always had a variety of songs such as heavy tunes, party tunes, ballads, blues and commercial friendly pop metal. Once again I am wandering, this is a review of Road Rage, so here we go. "Can't Get Enough" is a blues rock song with melody and harmony. If US radio would play new rock I believe it would get plenty of airplay. "Getaway" is good, it starts off with some almost mid eastern sounds before breaking into a cool mid tempo groove. "Roll This Joint" is a track with an almost 70's vibe.. "Freak Flag" reminds me of classic Quiet Riot. Quiet Riot always screamed out for the underdog. I can picture Kevin singing this next one. "Wasted" has a rocking groove with a f.u. attitude. "Still Wild" returns to the mid tempo groove with a message of still kicking it. "Make A Way" is another good one. "Renegades" picks up the pace a little, but not much. Another good song. "The Road" is a border line ballad about being away from family and home when out touring. One of my favs. "Shame" is the one I like the least. It is still a good song, but just doesn't do a lot for me. "Knock 'Em Down" is a cool rock tune with some blues and funk mixed in. Over all I would rate this a five star album. I would have deducted 1/2 star for the production. It doesn't make it unlistenable at all, just needs a little work.To sum up, highly recommended. To the diehards, Kevin would not have wanted QR to die. Listen with an open mind. Road Rage is very good! James Durbin sounds great. The songs are good.

James Durbin is a perfect fit as frontman for QR.
I've been a QR fan since I was a teenager and James Durbin was born to be in this band. When he was on AI I thought "it's too bad he was born in the wrong decade. He's an 80's band rocker." I was unbelievably excited when I found out he was going to front for QR. His voice is a perfect fit for this band. The album is really good, especially when you consider that it was written and produced so quickly. My favorite songs so far are Freak Flag and Roll this Joint - no I don't smoke it but it brings back memories of my friends in highschool, lol.

Great album seemingly saved by James Durbin.
Road Rage is proof that Quiet Riots future is promising. Look, the band is always going to have one foot steeped in the past with DuBrow, Come on Feel the Noize and that 1st metal album to top Billboard blah blah blah. Road Rage is a gift from the Gods for Quiet Riot, and getting James Durbin is the best thing to happen for these guys since DuBrow passed away. Road Rage is a fresh slice of good time rock n roll, and while I like Rehab very very much, Road Rage is a pretty darn good album. The production is great, the performances are very inspiring, and James lifts the songs from possibly having been mediocre (if the band stuck with Sean Nichols) to first-rate. The band has had a history of silly lyrics and a very stiff sound (Alive and Well or Guilty Pleasures anyone?) but Road Rage is truly a breath of fresh air. Very good, surprisingly good album. All the best to Quiet Riot, and hopefully they will inject some of these songs into their live set list.

Come on leave the noise !
When you think of Quiet Riot you most likely think of Kevin Dubrow, and I have to say there is no one I respect more and sympathize with than Frank Banali.Frank is an awesome drummer but he just cant let the QR name go ,its like he wouldn't live without the name. Its locked in his heart all the good years the success the brothers he rocked the world with its hard to let go, I know how it feels. This album has poor production the vocals are way out front, and the bands sound lacks punch after all QR is known for thundering drums and blazing guitars and of course raunchy rock vocals?.The songs are typical and some are good such as Getaway and Wasted but Frank should have found a more aggressive singer.Vocalist James Durbin is a good vocalist but he doesn't fit this band he is more suited for Air SupplyAll in all this is just a item for QR fans and collectors but Frank there is life after QR, its hard but time to move on.God Bless

This new album is a win-win for all involved--especially us fans!!
When I heard that James Durbin was going to join Quiet Riot, as their new front man; I wasn't sure what to think. Then I heard them together. I have no doubt that this is a win-win for everyone involved--especially us fans of QR and Durbin! The music from band leader and drummer, Frank Banali, bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi, is a perfect compliment to lead singer James Durbin's out-of-this-world voice. These four have come together to create something magical with this new album, Road Rage. Enjoy!

Rocking Out to Road Rage
Great album. It is very today, but has the feel of that great rock era. I like playing it with the volume turned up while riding down the highway (with my cruise control set so my car doesn't try to keep up with the music). Frankie Banali, Chuck Wright, Alex Grossi, and James Durbin are a great combo. This is, in my opinion, the best front man the band has had since Kevin. If you like great rock music, get it...you won't regret it.

James Durbin's band sounds fines.
Cool, catchy songs mostly, I attended this tour and loved James' voice, no covers here, they did a good Job.
