Cats’ favorite water fountain
My cats love this smaller version of the Catit water fountain. It’s easy to put together and clean, and doesn’t splash or leak. Personally, it is a little loud but I’m sensitive to noise. It’s comparable in noise level to a smaller whisper fish tank filter, so it’s not bad (again, I’m just sensitive to noise). I do have to put weights on two of the corners because I have a kitten going through a teething stage and she really likes to chew on the lid of the water fountain and pull the top apart. It does come apart very easily, so if you’ve got a very playful cat, you might want to consider a method to make sure the top stays put. Other than that, it’s a nice, compact water fountain. The water stays fresher than in a regular bowl, and the cats took to it right away. It’s a great height for smaller/shorter cats and has plenty of drinking space. The design is nice, and my cats definitely prefer to drink from the water flowing from the flower vs. water bubbling up from the center without the full flower (there’s 3 ways to set up the filter, which is described in the directions: without the flower, partial flower with the flower but not the yellow center, and full flower with the flower and yellow center). The filters are easy to replace as well, and I change the filter every month.

Great little fountain!
I have the larger models of this fountain and love them both. Multi cats share it and it has increased their water consumption greatly! I needed a smaller one for one cat who has his own space for now. It is just the right size for him! Note to user, on the side of the front bottom of the pump is a little switch that you need to slide in the correct direction in order for the water to flow. It took me a few tries to figure this out. When I first hooked it up the water was not coming out. I realized that this little switch was being pushed in the wrong direction when I was inserting the filter. Once I got it in the right position and put the filter in carefully it stayed in place perfectly. It runs quietly as long as the water level is up high enough. And gets louder as it gets lower. Which is good so you know when to add.

Really cute but I wish it was more quiet!
It took about 1.5 week for my cat to get used to this fountain. I was about to return it but suddenly I see him use it! He likes it now and no longer afraid of it haha he really took his time with this. The only complaint I have is that it's loud for me so it's a lot louder for my outdoor cat. I have it placed on my porch. I first left out just the container so he could get used to it then after he was fully comfortable with it, I added the motor, filter, lid, flower and turned it on. We're both happy with it. —- Update: my outdoor cat is now indoors and so is this fountain. I have his food and water in my room due to lack of space so I hear the fountain even if I cover my ears with my pillow lol. It’s rather annoying. Plus the even louder rattling noise when the water level isn’t enough, I have to add water to it everyday which is getting annoying. But because my cat likes it, I’ll leave it at 4 stars. —- Update: my cat has been inside with us for 6 months now and neighbors are complaining they can’t sleep because of the humming of the fountain. I tried placing thick mats on the floor under it but they can still hear it. My cat loves to drink out of this and when I tried switching back to bowl/cup, he did not drink for days. I had to plug it back in during the day. I tried putting it on top of a high box but it was still loud. Is there any surface that can lessen the humming? My baby needs to drink!

Extremely poor filtration, excellent varied drinking surfaces, nice compact size.
I was very pleased with the water fountain until one of my cats became seriously ill from the poor filtration. My cats did love it as much as they do the other Catit Fountains we have. Would like to see a version with a better filtration system and possibly a water softer. I highly recommend cutting fish tank foam to cap off the square housing for the pump to keep the pump free from debris that can collect dangerous bacteria. Pros: - Perfect for smaller spaces or travel to hotels/RVs - Square surface design allows cats to lick water streaming from the flower & have space to lap the water from the center and sides of bowl (They cannot do that with the larger Catit Fountain with the flower.) - Some cats prefer the lower height of the bowl - Trickling water noise attracts some cats and encourages them to want to drink more. - May be a great size for single cat households Cons: - Filtration isn't that great. There's one small carbon-floss pad that fits directly up against the pump and it really doesn't keep food/hair/particles out. Would be better if it had the same filter set up as the larger round Catit Filters. - Does not go together well. I'm always spilling it because the top pops off. It doesn't latch and the cord from the pump pushes it up easy - Not as quiet as larger round Catit bowl. You can hear water trickling a little - so not great for use in places you want to sleep or have silence. - Obviously (and I'm not sure this is really a con) the smaller size requires more frequent refills. UPDATE: Filtration is so bad that food & hair got clogged in the pump by flowing over the filter barrier. As a result one of my cats get an infection from biofilm found in the motor causing acute renal failure. I would not recommend this product unless you rig your own filter to cap the square bit in the middle to prevent overflow into the motor.

If I’m being honest, I don’t love it
This fountain is cute, and overall I would agree that it’s easy to clean and simple to assemble and disassemble. I got it because it’s the perfect size for a kitten and it definitely meets my expectations in look and size. My kitten loves to drink water from it and he has been drinking so much water since I got it. However, it does have its flaws and these flaws have made it a bit of a nuisance for me rather than making my life easier like I had hoped. 1. This fountain is loud. At it’s best this fountain has a pretty loud motor. I’m not that angry at the white noise. However, it makes a lot of ruckus throughout the week. If it’s not extremely full on water, it starts to make rattle noises. I feel like I’m dealing with this every couple days. It’ll be so loud I think that it must be empty and then I look at the water and it’s halfway or more full. Maybe this is due to the smaller size but I still find it annoying. 2. There’s some design flaws. I absolutely despise the cord. It’s black and throws off the entire look of the product. I try to cover it under a mat but the fact that it comes out of the top makes it nearly impossible. Besides the color, the cord feels like an after thought in the design. The lid will never click all the way on properly due to the cord’s placement at the top. This leads to an uneven look as the lid just sits crooked on top…not to mention all the water that just spills while trying to move it around. I’d recommend moving as slow and steady as humanely possible while moving this with water in it. 3. Speaking of water spillage... This fountain spills water everywhere. I don’t mean while it’s running normally, thankfully. However it requires the water be SUPER full to meet max level. Like literal centimeters from the top. Added with the fact that it makes noise if it’s not full and that the lid does not sit on it properly, I end up spilling water everywhere on a weekly basis while trying to refill it or clean it. Also, if you remove the lid when it’s on the water will spray out every which way. And yeah, that’s more user error on my part as I suppose I should turn it off first but still it’s a bother considering you have to unplug it from the adapter to do so. It’s under $20 so I suppose you get what you pay for. Just consider these issues when buying because personally, I am a low maintenance pet mom and I don’t love dealing with all the shenanigans this fountain brings me.

Purrrrfect water fountain for small cats
Originally purchased the full size Catit Fountain, but it stood too tall for my petite cat (she's only 8 lbs and fully grown). This Catit Mini Fountain is the perfect size for her. It's quiet, and only gets louder when it's time to add more water - a great reminder. It's very easy to clean, the filters are easy to clean and to replace too. The only challenge was getting our kitty to learn to drink from it. She didn't even notice it at first, so we set treats on the rim to get her to pay attention. After a few days, she was drinking from the fountain instead of her water bowl, and never looked back. The smaller size also makes it great for travel by car. It won't work in the car, because it needs to be plugged in, but it's quick and easy to set up once you get where you are going. Totally great product at a great price.

Very disappointing
We have the larger Catit fountain and it's a really good product. So when we got a very small cat and we wanted a shorter fountain for her, we naturally gave this fountain a try. We had high expectations and it was very disappointing. The main issue I have with this fountain is that the snaps on the lid don't hold it to the base very well, so it's tricky to pick up and constantly pops open or falls off when it's being handled. The water doesn't flow very well in the central part where the lid has a recess, and the water there is sometimes pretty still and there's mineral build-up, which never happens with the larger fountain. It seems like a pretty significant design flaw that this water doesn't flow much, while the other fountain does. Finally, the thing is so darn short that it runs out of water pretty fast. It's to be expected, but it's an annoyance too many on top of a disappointing product. If you're at all on the fence, absolutely get the larger Catit fountain. If budget prevents that, get an alternative fountain at this price point or just use a bowl.

HARD Work! EZ to clean? NO. Are you up to it?
Buy this for your cat's health NOT to make your life easier. Don't buy it as a means to provide water for days rather than just filling a bowl. I rinse the fountain and change the water every 2-3 days to avoid slime, crud and calcium accumulations. Wait longer than that and you'll definitely start seeing stuff. Would you drink water out of a tub on the floor just because it swirls around? The replaceable filter is effective at keeping large pieces of debris out of the pump. Don't think of it as a Brita filter. It's more like a cheap, see-through furnace filter but only about 1/8" thick. There's hardly enough activated charcoal in the wafer-thin filter layer to purify a glass of water let alone 1.5 liters continuously. I replace the filter weekly with these lower-priced but effective filters https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N0VO1QW I give the whole unit a thorough cleaning weekly. There are numerous nooks and crannies that you'll need a small brush to clean effectively. Take the pump apart to remove debris not caught by the filter and other accumulating gook. There are small diameter tubes in the pump and flower stem that require tiny brushes to cleanout. This set of brushes works for all parts of the fountain just fine: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BC4TK2T Don't forget to clean the portion of the power cord that goes through the water to the pump. It starts getting slimy too. If your cat or kitten likes to play with wires and strings you'll need to secure the power wire from the fountain to the electric outlet. My 6-month-old kitten Kiwi pulled straight up on the power cord to disassemble the fountain and dump it. I put a small plastic conduit around the power cord and secured it down with double-stick tape. Kiwi loves the fountain and is definitely drinking more water. Plan on scooping your litter box more frequently. 5-stars because it works so well for its intended purpose. My three prior cats developed kidney disease resulting in huge medical expenses and shortened lives. It's worth the $s and effort to acquire and maintain the Catit to head off those kind of problems.

Cat water fountain
Only had the water fountain a month, but for the price paid it’s working really well, I have 3 cats and one really likes to drink from the fountain and only seen one other cat have a sneaky drink, so at least one is using it regularly, you have to change the water every 3 days or so and give it a good clean once a week, the filter needs changing monthly, but these are cheap enough of Amazon too. So far I’m happy with it, and I don’t think it’s that noisy, maybe a slight hum, but it’s in the kitchen and the fridge is louder.
