Great and easy to setup. Love I can label each switch and turn off whatever my kids leave on. I don’t even have to go and see what’s on. The app will let me know what’s on!

So far, I've had 2 start producing ratcheting noises when trying to switch on/off. We'll see if Switchmate lives up to their 1 year warranty. I tried to contact the seller I bought these through on here and they disappeared. I've had these since August 2018 and use them each and every day. The motion feature has become part of my routine. The rental I'm in, the wall boxes for the switches are shallow so I can't put my smart switches in them so this was a compromise. Not exactly what I wanted to have them do, no alexa/google home integration, but at least the motion feature was working. Now I'm down to my last 2 and I have a feeling they will die very shortly as well. If 1 breaks, okay, but this second one went out exactly like the 1st one. It was working, then stopped responding to motion/button press, batteries were changed and started ratcheting instead of pushing the rocker switch on/off. It only ratchets in one direction too. If it grinds going on, it will turn off. Update 3/1: I've been dealing with switchmate support, which FYI their website is switchmatehome.com not exactly intuitive and easy to find, nothing in their app helps to find their website either. Anyways, so far no progress other than their support staff asking me the same question 10 different ways. I don't know how many more rounds they have left but it's annoying. I did online tech support for years and know how to cut to the chase of giving the pertinent info and they had to ask 5 times what the model # was. Really? That was given in the subject, and initial email, and I've triple checked only model # on the product and from the app, but you still ask for model #. I don't think they really read the emails totally. I guess, by some fluke, 2 of these worked flawlessly for months but now, my light switches are the problem vs their product that won't work on any light switch. So far, nothing more than a run around that they very well may be processing replacements for me, but that info has yet to be passed along. Again, bottom line, run fast and far away. I'm glad I only paid $8 for these vs the $20+ they are costing now. They're barely worth what I paid for them, and no way I'd pay what they're retailing for now.

I'm not sure why so many people don't like this. I can't wait to get a dozen of them throughout my house. I love that I can set timers on it. I love that I can set the motion sensor on and off. My wife and I leave lights on upstairs and I'm excited that I can set the motion sensor on different setting so I can leave the room and it will turn off at a given amount of time. So worth the money.

I have tried two of these in the last 12 months: the first one was so bad, the sliding mechanism could not move the rocker switch, and the app was a joke; the second one was a bit slimmer but still dysfunctional. This one, much slimmer, functions well, has motion detection and voice command (in app). the mobile control app is way better than before. The price is also very attractive, I paid under 15.

These worked great on our regular switches when we were away on a 5 week trip. I customized the timer using the app so it would turn on and off when required. you need to be in a close range to access the switches via the app (meaning open app, access the switches in the app when u r next to the switch) . I use this on a daily basis for outside lights. They are perfect!

Mostly good so far BUT cannot update firmware - error message: battery power less than 20% replace before updating - fresh out of the box, using the supplied batteries but keep getting this message

After 3 months of testing, my wife and I can honestly write that this product is much over-hyped. it basically got us through till we were able to upgrade to a more reliable system. The obvious limitations we knew about -- namely, that you cannot program the switch to turn on or off if you're out of your wi-fi range (so, no turning the light on or off if you're away from your house). What wasn't so obvious were these: - absolutely horrible battery life. We tested these with various kinds of rechargeable batteries, as well as with normal Duracell batteries. Keep in mind that even if your battery runs at 50% -65%, these Switchmate switches will read the battery life as much lower (10% or less) and may not work. We were constantly changing batteries -- and if the batteries run low, they won't work. We were often surprised to come home and find that lights we had attached these were not on -- and this proved a serious security issue. - The Switchmates won't work if your paddle rocker switch has any give, or if they are slightly recessed. The Switchmates worked with some of our switches, but for at least half of them, nothing. So the only reason to get these is if you want a relatively inexpensive bare-bones programmable, un-monitored. not-so-smart switch that will only work wirelessly if your phone is just within a certain number of feet from the device or wi-fi station -- and if you are willing to constantly change out the batteries, and don't mind finicky systems. Save a little bit more money and get a wireless system with a base station, like the Lutron Caseta or the Levitron. The Lutron switch is more expensive (about $24 more) and you have to buy a base station -- but once you have this wired in, you don't have to pay for batteries and have a million times more reliability (not a bad thing if you're doing this for home security). Also, with the Lutron or Levitron, you can monitor and turn the switches on and off if you are away from the house. There is also a random setting you can use (at least for Lutron), so that lights can turn on-off with no set pattern -- again, great for security. The Switchmate does none of these things. PS: there is probably a reason the main Switchmate site DOES NOT accept returns once purchased. I think they know people will be unsatisfied with the product! from the Switchmate website: "All orders on SwitchmateHome are non-refundable, if you purchased the wrong type or color we will gladly exchange it for you within 30 days of your purchase, however Returns are not accepted" Boooo, Switchmate!

Look, if you can get this product to work consistently, it is a godsend. And I really like it when it worked -- its slim profile, its design (using a magnet to snap the switch on top of an in-wall switch is a genius idea), its sensor ... they all worked amazingly well. The only problem? This thing happened to disconnect to the app, and/or to the Switchmate access point all the time. I couldn't give you a concrete number, but 9 out of 10 times, it would be disconnected from anything it's paired with. The last time the two that I bought got disconnected, one of them refused to re-connect no matter what I tried. I even tried resetting the switch, and re-paired, but right after it was paired, the connection was lost after I closed the app (AND the switch was just about 10 inches from my phone). Anyway, I learned my lesson. Many people don't want the hassle of having a hub, and you can find TONS of Bluetooth smart devices on Amazon. My advice is, AVOID THEM. Bluetooth is not suitable for any smart home. Buy a hub -- and buy one that supports Zigbee and/or Z-Wave. My experience has shown that Zigbee and Z-Wave devices are usually much more reliable than the new breed of Bluetooth devices. In addition, with Zigbee and Z-Wave, you don't have to worry about the device maker going out of business, leaving your devices nothing more than a brick.

So I purchased this product expecting it could be managed using Alexa. The tool connects pretty easily to the switch without any wiring and can also be managed remotely using the switchmate app. However when trying to connect to it using Alexa, the Alexa pairing option is not present on the app. When I contacted support, I was told that I would need to purchase Switchmate zip or switchmate power in order for it to pair with Alexa. This was not clearly described on the product description.
