I would highly recommend this for anyone, at any age!
I originally bought this for a very close friend who just had surgery and had a multicolor light panel over his hospital bed. He found the soft green/blue/yellow/red hues and changing color patterns very soothing, so I planned to buy him this as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, I found this just before Christmas and although the delivery date when I ordered it was December 24th, Amazon wasn't able to deliver until after the holidays. I bought him something else and kept this for myself when it arrived. I'm so glad that I did! I'll admit that, right out of the box, I didn't have very high expectations. It looked like one of those items you see advertised everywhere before the holidays that look good in the ads but end up being cheap junk. I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it in and programmed it through the phone app. It's great that you can customize the colors, speed, and starfield. I set it with hues that are conducive to sleep and although I usually find it hard to sleep with any lights on, I have often slept through the night with this lamp on. I set it up on a corner table so that the color washes up the walls in that corner and across most of the ceiling. The projector light is quite bright, so I put it behind something to prevent me looking directly at the light without blocking the projection. I have now used it every night for more than 6 months and I still love it! Whether you use it in a bedroom, living room, man cave, she shed, or any other space, it enhances the look and feel of the room and just makes you feel good. I will probably buy another one for my living room as well as another one for gifting.

10/10 best projection nebula star lamp
I've had this for 6ish months, love it. Have it against a wall on a low table and it projects like a 12x12 foot section of the ceiling at the angle i have it sitting. Did hours of late night research and review reading as usual before I purchased. First of all you don't need to register or create an account to use this thing, you don't need to sync your location or contacts or personal data of any kind. Some reviews make it sound like China is trying to get at you with this but that's cuz they're boomers and don't know how to close out popup prompts. You may need to initially sync it to your wifi using Bluetooth which is annoying but it doesn't try to access Bluetooth again after it's connected to the wifi. It connects to wifi by default by holding a button on the power cord till a light blinks slow/fast but that hasn't always worked so the backup connection method is Bluetooth. But as I said if you go the Bluetooth wifi sync method that's only for setup, after it's connected Bluetooth is never needed again. Just don't give it permissions for anything, it doesn't need access to your location etc to work *at all*. When you first open the bliss home app there's a prompt to create an account, it's not needed. Close that out, it's a tiny small text at the bottom to skip it. Alright so the downside is yes you need the bliss home app to create custom settings, it's not ZigBee so as much as I hate that (I don't like 3rd party apps wasting space on my phone for infinity lighting devices, but this is the only app I have for such purposes) it's necessary *if* you want custom color/motion settings. If you don't install the app it will still work with Alexa but it'll just be the default color nebula/star pattern which makes me dizzy to look at. If you install bliss home app you can toggle the clouds/stars on/off, create custom colors, adjust star speed etc I took a screenshot of my colorfade custom setting that uses a good amount of color options as an example. The second downside is, for me personally, I have this projector set to turn on at night via ZigBee plug synced to Alexa along with other ambient lighting in the room. When it turns on it automatically reverts to the default dizzy default setting. So every night I open the bliss home app, select the projector, then close the popup that asks for my location access, and then I select my custom theme and it switches over So no memory of the previous theme setting. I just deal with it. I spent like 5 hours researching various star nebula projector things and this one I promise is the best thus far. The default price is like $54 but it goes on sale periodically (Nov - Dec and I think it dropped again in Feb) for $34 so just save it in your cart and wait for the sale. Blue and green stars are both awesome. I'll take a video of the different custom theme settings and speed it up so it's not 15 minutes long lol. Bottom line if you want a light like this get this one, and if you're not tech savvy show this review to a gen z or millennial and have them set it up for you 👍

Great, but room for improvement.
For the most part I love it. I have 2 cloud + Blue stars. I greatly prefer the blue stars over green. Much easier on the eyes and blends with my favorite color combos better. I recommend giving blue a chance. The app is simple to use, but it has some room for improvement. When making any brightness adjustment the white LED turns on full blast. You then have to select your color combo again to disable the white LED. Rinse and repeat till you get the brightness where you want. It's an extra step that shouldn't be necessary and seems fixable. I like to put on light shows for my friends and that messes me up. (Yeah I'm a nerd lol) The area of projection is...small. I have other cheaper projectors that cast a much larger projection. I have to set it on the floor and angle it probably 45 degrees to get decent coverage. I can't help but think it doesn't have to be this way. Wouldn't it be cool if the company sold a pop on accessory to expand the projection? I'd buy. ...Or just give it a wider projection to begin with. Those things aside I really like it. The ball design allows so much adjustment vs other fixed units. When you have multiple units you can use that to your advantage to create awesome long streaks in the same direction. The pattern is very calming. It reminds me of the planet from the movie Solaris. The motor is dead silent even on fast. Tip: To get Red, Green, and Blue without white you must make a scene. This looks way better IMO than including the white LED.

Super calming
I used this in the hospital while I gave birth and after. The ambiance definitely got rid of that ugly hospital feel and made me feel way more calm. Such a great purchase. I use it today. My now 2 year old son loves it and thinks it's fun to use in the bathroom while he bathes. I keep it plugged in and have not had any issues with the power. Excellent quality, does not break easily. Uses phone as remote for color changing which is super easy. Cord length is normal. Great value for the price.

Great product
Amazing patterns and brightness can change colors and patterns using a app, I had trouble getting wifi to connect to the app and gave up trying to use it. But regardless it looking great. Maybe in the future improve the base the led sits on where it's attached instead of being loose, sometimes when rotating the ball around to get the best view it will slide around making it a bit difficult to get the right spot you want. Other then that it's good for the price. Also be careful with how you position it, if not set right the led light will shine into your eyes, it is very bright and can cause you to see spots if you look into it by accident.

What is it about blue stars.......????
What is it about blue stars they can't get right? I prefer blue stars over the green ones but every blue star projector I've tried had the same problem.....blurry blue stars. This doesn't seem to be an issue with green star projectors but the blue star projectors, regardless of the company who makes them, are always and I mean always the same problem over and over...lack of crisp, clear stars. The other problem is the projector doesn't cover the entire ceiling. I guess I need to give up on looking for one that covers the entire ceiling because it doesn't seem like that's ever gonna happen. One last con...for the price point they should've made the battery rechargeable. I'm wondering when will star projector designers figure out that a long lasting rechargeable battery will give consumers the freedom and flexibility of not being limited where projectors can be placed? Being bound by electrical outlets or usb ports is annoying. Especially for those of us who live in old homes built during the Victorian Era or Edwardian Era, where electrical outlets are limited. Other than this, I found this projector to be quite impressive and was impressed with this app compared to the app for their older model projector which was awful. I had to return their older model projector because I could never get the device to connect to my wifi nor connect to their app. Haven't had any problems with this projector and app so far. I have it set to a timed on/off schedule and no problems whatsoever. Whenever I open the app to make color adjustments for my mom, it's always connected and that's impressive. I got this for my mom's room. She suffers from Alzheimer's disease and this really calms her at night. She's fascinated at how beautiful the lights are. She comes alive when the projector comes on and it warms my heart so much because the conversations we have about the lights are so special to me because of this heart wrenching and difficult time in my mom's life. It's like lying on the ground, looking up at the stars in the sky, leaving your worries behind and having the coolest conversations about the wonders of nature! I like how you can control the cloud speed and the laser speed. You can adjust the brightness and most of all, you can adjust the device to tilt at ANY angle....now that's marvelous dahling, simply marvelous! 2 star deduction for the aforementioned problems but otherwise I highly recommend because I think they finally found the overall right formula with this one.

Best on the market
I've tried a handful of the astronaut style galaxy projectors and none of them come close to the quality that this one offers. Not only are the astronauts a little more expensive, but they offer significantly less features and produce a weaker effect. This one offers full Alexa / Google integration for voice activation and set up with other routines, a dedicated app with nebula color selection, independent brightness and rotation settings for both the nebulas and stars (yes the stars also rotate unlike all competitiors), and scheduling for on/off at specified days and times. It will save your settings and return to them each time it's turned on (also unlike competitors). The voice activation was already the most attractive selling point for me, but it also produces a much stronger nebula effect that covers a larger surface area than the other ones I've tried. Weak points: -The stars come off a little more grid-like than competitors, but you get a lot more of them and they rotate. I've found turning the brightness down to 15% helps to reduce the grid effect and create a more natural look. - the positioning of the USB can pull at the device and cause it to move. Easy fix is to put part of the cord underneath the base to secure it. Still a little annoying but all good. - does not have an auto-transition mode to cycle through various nebula colors (at least I haven't found a way). Not a big deal for me since I keep it set to one set of colors and can easily change to something else if I'd like. This would be a nice to have, though. Despite the weak points (most of which are easily fixable), this is hands down the best galaxy projector I've come across, especially for the price, which can go down to $25 at times. Enjoy!

Love the Light; Hate the App
UPDATE: Well, I moved and this light is now unusable. The internet service I have now can't support this and it refuses to connect to my phone via Bluetooth. Half a year of use and now it's worthless, barely functioning as a paperweight. The main problem with this light is the app/software required for it to run. While it makes sense that it needs more due to the color blending, the app is a monster, granting itself permissions it doesn't need and constantly harassing users to allow it to see your location along with other troubling tracking. I really did like this light when I could get it to work despite the headaches via the app. Now I can't recommend anyone buy it and with the ever-evolving state of tech, users are going to find it becoming obsolete sooner rather than later. OLDER REVIEW: I love the light effect from this. I find that I have it on frequently, even in the day. People who have seen it are impressed. It was one of the few with blue stars as an option and I'm glad I got that and not just the cloud. I wavered for a bit as I had really disliked the ever-present green stars other units come with. The stars and the cloud are independently adjustable for both speed and brightness. So, you can turn off either or make one far more prominent than the other. They can stand still, or move fast with anything in between. Personally, I like close to stationary stars with the cloud slowly flowing. I do find myself wishing sometimes for a few extra color combinations, but that is a small quibble. The color blending wheel offers a lot of variety and color vibrancy is great. I wish there was a way to catalog certain points for easier reference with no extra hoops. The app, however, is far too invasive. It is possible to use the app bare bones (the update gives Bluetooth options, and all permissions are turned off besides that) but there is still the possibility of data collection and the app fights you constantly. Every time I go to it to interact with my Evolve, for example, it demands my location. You have to continue, then cancel, and then close the pop-up to get into the light functions. You may need to do this more than once. Why does this light need your location, you ask? Well, it has a function that allows color changes as temps rise and fall. Neat idea, but it shouldn't be thrust as mandatory. Especially in this day and age where everything seems to be trying to harvest data to either steal or market to you. I would highly recommend this company redesign this app. Make it bare bones, put in a small tutorial so the potential is known, and then leave users alone. The precise location thing, requests for router access, etc. aren't necessary and can leave customers vulnerable. How it works now encourages frustration for an otherwise fantastic product.

A compact, easy-to-use, feature-filled night light
I was looking for a way to brighten a room during the dark winter months ahead. Some research kept pointing to the BlissLights Evolve as a good, price-conscious option. I took the plunge and ordered one, hoping for the best. When it arrived, the packaging was good, with good protection for the light and its components (base, light, power supply). Setup couldn't be easier; basically place the light ball on the base, plug it in, turn it on, and it is ready to go. To get the best use out of it, you need to download the BlissHome app, which lets you pair the device to the app and to the network. This took a couple of tries, but probably more user error than any issues with the app. The second try worked perfectly, and it even has additional pairing options, if for some reason you really get stuck. Now to the important part, how it looks. I'm totally impressed. The cloud has rich colours, great mellow motion and makes it feel like you are staring into your favourite nebula (Horsehead, anybody?). The stars are bright and have a nice contrary motion, immersing your room in gently moving lights. The app lets you select scenes/colourways that are predefined, or lets you select your own. You can adjust the colour, motion and light intensity for the cloud and stars separately, really providing you with a soothing customized light. Pros: - Small form factor - Nice design - Great lights/visuals - Easy setup - Easy connectivity to Google Home - Timer feature - Great customizability - Easy to position on the base - Easy to use app Cons: - None that I can think of, but it's early days. - It does seem that if I customize the lights on the fly, turn it off, then turn it on again, it forgets my settings and defaults to full bright/full rotation, but I need to test that out more. Probably user error. In short, I love it. If I were to look for a similar light for another room, I would definitely buy this one again.

It gives you complete control over the lighting options, right at your fingertips. Want a soft, mellow ambiance for a romantic evening? Or maybe you're in the mood for a party vibe? Crank up the energy with some vibrant colors and let the good times roll. The possibilities are endless. And let me tell you about this one feature that blew my mind. You can actually turn off the clouds and have only the stars shining. I mean, how cool is that? It's like having your own personal galaxy right above you. Arrived Zero Instructions
There was absolutely nothing other than the base, cord, and ball in the box. Luckily, I have been installing and running Google Home lighting for years. 1) Generally one would need to install a proprietary app to make the most of this type of product. I assume it is the BLISSHOME app found on Google Play for Android devices. I didn't need to download it because I use the Tuya (just like Smart Life) app for controlling all my bulbs and LED strips. 2) I just had to assume that I could pair it in the same way as most lighting products. I tried turning it on and off a few times. That did the trick as the ring around the switch started blinking blue rapidly. The Tuya app then recognized this device immediately. The software recognized the device as an EVOLVE and completed the appropriate installation. 3) I now have all the customizations as in the images and access through the app or by talking to any of my Google Home speakers. Without this vital information, most customers would probably return the device as defective. I don't know why a simple sheet of instructions wasn't in the box. I have yet to see the full effect of the device as it is best used after dark. It seems as if this was like a unit I had four or five years back. I loved the old one and was sad when it stopped working. The 'field of viewing' may be smaller than the old unit. This one makes no noise, so I'm unsure whether it has similar mechanical components. I sure hope this will last at least a few years.

good value for the money and a very nice little quiet operating unit
The app that is required to be installed on your phone in order to access all the special features of the unit, in my opinion, has some serious security issues - you are required to enable certain options that are unnecessary for the operation of the unit. under normal circumstances for any other electronic device, I’ve purchased that requires to be hooked up to the international I would never turn those options on. I also find that the app is a little bit overly complicated to figure outcomplicated and it’s time consuming to figure out and use. I was actually hoping that there would be places that I could go online to “steal” somebody else is hard work so that I could just have the projector do its thing with me doing the bare minimum of effort. That doesn’t seem to be the case. That kind of information is not available on the Internet through chat sites or just a general google search. for any other electronic device, I’ve purchased that requires to be hooked up to the international. All of that being said it’s a nice little lamp that provides a great amount of ambience!
